This Jhomolhari Trek is one of the most popular treks and a favourite with trekkers. It is a truly amazing trek amidst the beauty of the himalayas that leaves one with an everlasting sense of satisfaction and fulfilment.

The trek starts off from the ruins of Drugyal Dzong, follwoing a river at 2500 meters to an altitude of 4820 meters at Yalila Pass.

The route takes you through narrow cultivated valleys to wide open yak pastures, across high passes to closed-in winding river valleys, through villages and old ruins of dzongs to yak herders camps, from high alpine mountains to semi-tropical forests. Catch stunning views of the high ridges and snow -capped peaks, of crashing rivers, feeder streams and waterfalls, of the majestic grandeur of Mount Jomolhari and Tserim Kang and its glaciers.

Day halt at Linghi takes you on an excursion to Tsokha, the base camp of Mount Jichu Drake.

From Paro to Lingshi, from Shodu to Dolam Kencho, the trek has an incredible array of attractions that leaves one humbled and amazed by the beauty and wealth of both the Himalayas and the magical Kingdom of Bhutan.

Itinerary

DAY 01: Your arrival at Paro Airport by Druk Air. Sightseeing Paro and Overnight at hotel.

DAY 02: Trek to Shana. Overnight at tented camp. Distance: 17 km

DAY 03: Trek to Soi-Thangthangkha. Overnight at tented camp.

DAY 04: Trek to Jangothang. Overnight at tented camp. Distance: 19 km

DAY 05: Day halt for acclimatization / Day excursion to Tshophu Lake. Overnight at tented camp.

DAY 06: Trek to Lingshi. Overnight at tented camp. Distance: 19 km

DAY 07: Lingshi halt. Overnight at tented camp. Day excursion to Tsokha. Distance: 15 km

DAY 08: Trek to Shodu. Overnight at tented camp. Distance: 22 km

DAY 09: Trek to Barshong. Overnight at tented camp. Distance: 13 km

DAY 10: Trek to Dolam Khencho. Overnight at tented camp. Distance: 11 km

DAY 11: Trek to the road head and drive to Thimphu. Overnight at hotel. Distance: 14 km

DAY 12: Thimphu Sightseeing & drive to paro. Overnight at hotel.

DAY 13: Flight to your onward destination.

      We had never been to Nepal before or indeed done any trekking. I can honestly say that this was the best holiday ever, and that it was made better by Nepal Trailblazer Trekking Company. The guides, porters, accommodation and food were fabulous. We were also treated to 21 days of blue skies and sunshine and 4 inches of snow, which made a beautiful place even better. We couldn't have asked for a better guide in Bikram, his professionalism and knowledge was outstanding he even allowed us to beat him at cards! Also a huge thanks to Raj who carried our bags.     • 13.05.10 01:31Il trekking del Kanchenjunga è lungo e classificato difficile, ma l'ottima organizzazione di Nepal Trailblazer, la competenza e la capacità di Bikesh Rana ( la nostra guida ) e di tutto lo staff l'hanno reso un'esperienza bella ed indimenticabile.
      Tilak inoltre è stato un prezioso aiuto per risolvere i problemi sorti alla fine del trekking a causa dei voli sospesi nel periodo dell'eruzione del vulcano islandese, i quali ci hanno costretto a prolungare il soggiorno di altri quattro giorni.
      Sembra che in Nepal ci sia un detto che dice "mai viaggiare in tre [...]" e noi eravamo tre, abbiamo avuto qualche contrattempo ma tutto si è risolto per il meglio grazie all'impegno dell'agenzia di trekking.
      Ci sentiamo quindi di consigliare Nepal Trailblazer a chiunque voglia visitare questa magnifica nazione.
