In the western part of the country, this area is protected by the Rara National Park. At 106 sq km, it is the smallest national park of Nepal.

Rara is a good destination point for trekking in the west. The trail is very much "off the beaten path" and affords glimpses of culture and scenery very different from those in the rest of the country. The centerpiece of the park is the biggest lake of Nepal.

Along mountain paths and a series of picturesque villages, one reaches the magnificent banks of Rara lake. The park includes Trans- Himalayan valley with high ridges covered with forest and alpine pastures. Being among the local people with their distinctive culture and traditions, gives the visitor a unique experience and makes for a wonderful holiday. The primitive people give the trekker a look backward and a chance to reflect on his own modern society and development.

The great high mountains scenery enchants and fascinate as always. Like most of Nepal, Rara National Park is a naturalist's dream. Animals like the gaur, serow, musk deer, yellow-throated martin and a wide variety of birds such as the impeyan pheasant, kalij and dove are ever present.

Itinerary

Day 01: Your arrival to Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA), you will be met by our Airport Representative, and transfer to hotel. Overnight at hotel. B.B.

Day 02 :Full day sightseeing tour of Kathmandu valley (Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath, Swayambhu, and Kathmandu durbar square). Overnight at hotel. B.B.

Day 03: Flight Kathmandu - Nepalgunj. Overnight at hotel Batika. B. L. D.

Day 04: Flight Nepalgunj - Jumla (2370m). Overnight at tented camp. B. L. D.

Day 05: Trek to Danphe Langa (3130m). Overnight at tented camp. B. L. D.

Day 06: Trek to Chautha (2770m). Overnight at tented camp. B. L. D.

Day 07: Trek to Dhotu (2380m). Overnight at tented camp. B. L. D.

Day 08: Trek to Lago Rara. Overnight at tented camp. B. L. D.

Day 09: Rara lake (3040m). Overnight at tented camp. B. L. D.

Day 10: Rest and explore Rara Lake. Overnight at tented camp. B. L. D.

Day 11: Trek to Ghorasingha (3190m). Overnight at tented camp. B. L. D.

Day 12: Trek to Sinja (2440m). Overnight at tented camp. B. L. D.

Day 13: Trek to Jaljala (3270m). Overnight at tented camp. B. L. D.

Day 14: Trek to Jumla. Overnight at tented camp. B. L. D.

Day 15: Flight Jumla - Nepalgunj - Kathmandu. Overnight at hotel. B. B.

Day 16: Take leisure day in Kathmandu with guided half day city tour around the valley. Overnight at hotel. B. B.

Day 17: Transfer to Airport for your onward Journey. Farewell!

Note: B.B> Bed and Breakfast, B.L.D> Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

Cost Includes

  • Airport / Hotel / Airport pick up & drop off by car / Van.
  • Guided city tour as per above program.
  • 4 nights accommodation with breakfast at deluxe hotel in Kathmandu.
  • An experienced Guide (trained by Ministry of tourism), required number of porters, their food, accommodation, salary, insurance, equipments.
  • Full board meal (veg. / non veg.) prepared by our expert cook.
  • Trekking equipment (two men tent, dining tent, kitchen tent, Table with chairs, kitchen utensils, Down sleeping bag / Jackets, walking sticks, and other necessary equipments during the trek).
  • Trekkers' Information Management System (TIMS) Permit, and all local taxes.
  • Tourist service charge, Vat.
  • Flights (Kathmandu - Nepalgunj - Jumla and flight back to Kathmandu as per above itinerary
  • Office Service charge.

Cost Excludes

  • Any meals in Kathmandu other than breakfast.
  • Travel insurance (if you want us to arrange your travel insurance, we would greatly be happy to assist). For detail information regarding the travel insurance, please click here.
  • International air fare to and from Nepal.
  • Nepal Tourist Visa fee US$ 25 or equivalent foreign currency with multiple entry for 15 days, US$ 40 or equivalent foreign currency with multiple entry for 30 days. You may easily issue the visa upon your arrival at Tribhuwan International Airport - Kathmandu.
  • Items of a personal nature
  • Any kind of alcoholic drinks, hot water, hot shower, cold drinks, laundry, phone call, internet.
  • Tips for guide, porters, driver.

    NOTE:     Tipping is expected but it is not mandatory.

  • 13.05.10 01:31Il trekking del Kanchenjunga è lungo e classificato difficile, ma l'ottima organizzazione di Nepal Trailblazer, la competenza e la capacità di Bikesh Rana ( la nostra guida ) e di tutto lo staff l'hanno reso un'esperienza bella ed indimenticabile.
    Tilak inoltre è stato un prezioso aiuto per risolvere i problemi sorti alla fine del trekking a causa dei voli sospesi nel periodo dell'eruzione del vulcano islandese, i quali ci hanno costretto a prolungare il soggiorno di altri quattro giorni.
    Sembra che in Nepal ci sia un detto che dice "mai viaggiare in tre [...]" e noi eravamo tre, abbiamo avuto qualche contrattempo ma tutto si è risolto per il meglio grazie all'impegno dell'agenzia di trekking.
    Ci sentiamo quindi di consigliare Nepal Trailblazer a chiunque voglia visitare questa magnifica nazione.
