What’s the difference between a teahouse and a guesthouse?

Both tea houses and guesthouses are types of accommodation options commonly used during trekking in Nepal.

A tea house trek involves staying in tea houses, which are small, simple lodges that are usually located along trekking routes. They typically provide basic accommodation, including a bed and shared bathroom facilities. Many tea houses also have communal dining areas where trekkers can enjoy meals and socialize with other travellers. Tea houses are often family-run, and guests are welcomed with warmth and hospitality.

On the other hand, guesthouses are larger and more established lodging options, typically found in towns or cities. They offer more amenities than tea houses, such as private bathrooms, hot showers, and sometimes Wi-Fi. Guesthouses are often run as a business, and the level of service can vary widely depending on the establishment.

In summary, tea houses are simpler and more rustic than guesthouses but offer a more authentic and immersive trekking experience.

Guesthouses, on the other hand, offer more comfort and amenities but may be less culturally immersive. However, both options are popular for trekking in Nepal, and the choice between them will depend on personal preferences and the specific needs of the trekker.

What is the most suitable time of year to travel to Nepal?

The most suitable time to visit Nepal depends on what type of climate and weather you prefer. Generally, the peak tourist season in Nepal is between October-November and February-April. During this time, the skies are usually clear and offer beautiful views of the Himalayas. In addition, trekking trails are at their best during this period as the snow has melted, but it is still cool for long hikes.

What kind of visa do I need?

For tourists travelling to Nepal, depending on the country of origin and the length of stay, visitors may need to obtain a visa from the Nepalese Department of Immigration. The most common type of visa for entry into Nepal is a tourist visa, which can be obtained for 30 or 90 days and is extendable up to 150 days in a single visa year. To apply for a visa, you’ll need to present proof of identity in the form of a valid passport, two passport-sized Photographs and payment in U.S. Dollars or its equivalent in another currency.

Are there any cultural taboos or customs I should know before going?

Researching cultural norms before planning a trip to Nepal is always wise. With its rich and diverse culture, visitors should know that certain customs and taboos exist in the country. For example, no matter where you go, it is important to remember to dress modestly. Respect elders and religious places, show restraint when taking photos of locals, avoid public displays of affection, and do not take photographs of certain areas or monuments without asking for permission first. Furthermore, it would be best to refer to people by their titles followed by their names.

How are the tour guides chosen?

We are dedicated to offering quality and excellent services. Therefore, we have stringent processes and standards for selecting experienced, knowledgeable tour guides. As part of the selection process, potential tour guides must have valid certifications from governing bodies and demonstrate an extensive understanding of safety protocols and Nepal’s natural and cultural wonders.

Is there a refund policy if I cancel my trip?

Yes, we have a refund policy for trips that are cancelled. However, refunds may not be available for cancellations within 1-14 days of the scheduled departure time, and a cancellation fee may apply depending on the tour package. You can also find our refund policy by visiting the booking terms and conditions.
