My father and I just returned from touring Nepal with your guide Anuj. The trip was excellent!
We were shown many wonderful places and told lots of info that we wouldn’t have been able to gather ourselves, especially in just a few days. Having your company handle all the travel and hotel accommodations made us the envy of many other people we met. The flexibility in the schedule was great – our itinerary was not so hectic that we had plenty of rest and free time for personal wanderings.
I would highly recommend this trip and this company to anyone who wants a quality experience at a very reasonable price.
How disappointing – to have to return home last week after the wonderful trip that you orchestrated for us to Nepal!!
Our time in your country was fantastic and mesmerizing; the kind people from your team looked after us all so well from initial arrival in KTM airport to the 5 day Poon Hill Trek to the Chitwan jungle elephant safari to the cultural and historical immersion of the Kathmandu city and valley areas. Such a great blend of activities for a family to challenge physically and to savour intellectually and culturally.
Many thought my wife and I were mad to attempt this with our 7 and 11 year old boys, and I thought our 3 week family exploration of Vietnam 2 years ago would not be surpassed; all misplaced feelings. This was superb and I would highly recommend to families your tailored individual packages; guided and assisted when we wanted, left alone to ourselves when we desired. Also, changes to what we wanted to do when in Nepal were accommodated with ease as my children’s energy surged and ebbed.
Of particular note, I would like to highlight the following individuals from your team:
Basu: Our guide on the 5 day Ghorepani – Poon Hill – Ghandruk trek. He was outstanding. So understanding of our needs and capabilities, so engaging with my little boys during the trek days and in the tea houses in the evening (card games are now addictive with the boys), and I enjoyed long talks with him over a few glasses of Roksy (my spelling!). We were all very sad to say goodbye to him when we departed from each other in Pokhara and my boys want an e-mail from him when he can!. I would recommend Basu highly as a perfect guide for families trekking with younger children; he is a superb man who will seek out the best food, accommodation and service for you; whilst also being great fun to be around on the long trek days and socialising at night.
Mr Thapa: Our guide in Kathmandu when we went to Durbar Square, Patan, Bhaktapur, Nargakot etc. He was such a knowledgeable, intelligent and articulate man. We learned so much from him about Nepali history, culture, Hinduism and Budhism. I especially enjoyed our chats about the challenges facing Nepal in the era of globalisation.
I would be grateful if you could thank again for me all those who assisted in our visit to Nepal, and pass my comments above directly to Basu and Thapa.
In the future, we would like to come back to Nepal when the boys are a little older and we can attempt an even more challenging trek. ABC, the Annapurna Circuit Trek or Everest Base Camp may be options when the boys are a little older and stronger.
I will definitely recommend you to my friends who fancy some adventure. In fact, you have some friends of mine with you now, who I recommended should go to Nepal with your company after your expert organisation of our trip.
Thank you for making this adventure happen for me, my wife and my young boys.
If families wish to e-mail me about our experiences and advice, please do so through Tilak. I would be delighted to assist you.
Many thanks for organizing a great trekking holiday for us. It was generally very well organized.
One comment that might help you improving your services in future.
I suggest checking with the Clients regarding their physical shape when planning the treks. In our case we could easily walk 3-4 hours more each day and save enough time to deviate to Tilicho lake for example.
Otherwise, as said above everything was excellent.
I will be certainly planning another trip to Nepal in the future and will naturally apply to you for helping in organizing it.
Best regards and thanks,

We also, wish you and your family, along with all Nepal Hiking, a Happy New Year and Best Wishes.
We hope the new year brings health, happiness, peace, prosperity and good business to all of your team, to You and to your family.
Under the skillful guidance of Nepal Hiking and your management, we enjoyed another excellent Everest Base camp Trek this year, as a group of 12-people, from Zirve Mountaineering & Outdoor Sports Club, Turkey. All of our group members have asked me to convey their thanks again, to You and to Nepal Hiking. Our Group have expressed me their commendations towards your skillful coordination and teamwork organization during our activity.
Thus, we have shared during 2011, a second come back trekking activity with wonderful memories in Nepal, after our Classical Everest Base Camp Trek (Jiri-Kala Pattar ) activity that we have shared also under Nepal Hiking guidance during year 2008.
Thank you for having assigned Guide Narayan Khan to our activities, who , along with Kapel, were both very successful and helpful.
As more of our Club members and other friends in Tukey are expressing interest to visit Nepal, we wish and look forward to cooperate with you and your Company again, during coming years, also to other trekking routes in Nepal. It has been a pleasure working with you repeatedly, in the past. I am confident that it will be the same in future.
Best of luck in the New Year..

Namaste Mr Tilak
Just to let you know we had a wonderful holiday in your country – our flights booked through you all went smoothly and we found your people so friendly and kind.
We will recommend your services to our Australian and South African friends.
Happy New Year!
I just want to express my thanks to you and your team for making my trekking tour to Nepal a great success. I have always been fascinated by high mountains, but at an age of 67, I think it is too late to start climbing. But to fulfill my dream, I decided to take the Classic Everest Trek from Jiri to Everest. It was quite a long trek, but a trek I will strongly recommend. Even that the weather from Jiri to Lukla was not very good and the trekking trail is quite strenuous, I think you get a better impression of the daily life in the Himalayan area, than from Lukla up to Everest which are more touristic.
I want to thank Bhairam for meeting me in the airport and bringing me back after the trek and to Kevi (guide) and Raz (porter) for exellent service during the whole trek. Kevi understand that my main goal was to go as close to Everest as possible. He advised me all the way up and I managed Kala Pattar (5,550m) without any problems. I will never forget the beautiful view of Mount Everest early in the morning and I was really proud of myself for not giving up in the steep tracks. The trek back to Lukla was very relaxed and Kevi and I had more time to talk about the life up in the high mountains. Even if I could not talk to Raz in english, we could communicate with gestures and he also managed to serve me local wine before Lukla!
Finally I want to thank you, Tilak, for meeting me in the hotel after the trek and I want to say that I am very satisfied with your company and your staff and I will tell all my friends in Norway to contact you if they plan to go to Nepal. Myself I am quite sure I will travel back to Nepal in the future.
Dear Tilak, Bhairam, Chhapi and Arjun
Many thanks for a wonderful experience on the AC trek.
Thank you to Bhairam for overseeing our trip so efficiently and courteously. Everything went very smoothly even when we changed our plans slightly.
Chhabi, our guide, was a real star and was a great companion on our trek . He made sure we had everything we needed – and got us to the top of Thorung-la without a hitch!
Arjun, our porter, was also brilliant – he’s a multitalented porter cum guide cum cook.
The Annurpurna Circuit trek was an absolute joy. We had trekked to Muktinath over 20 years ago but this was our first time on the Manang side and we absolutely loved it – the views were sensational and the villages and countryside are a delight. The road is coming so I suggest people get to see it before the impact is too great.
The road on the Jomsom side has obviously had a negative impact on the trekking experience but new trails are being opened up that avoid the road, so I recommend you give yourself enough time to explore these (see the book by Andrees de Ruiter and Prem Rai about the new NATT trails).
After Kagbeni (which you should visit) we decided to take transport to Tatopani to save some time and avoid trekking on the road.
Ghorepani and the route to Tadapani and Ghandruk, etc is road free and absolutely stunning (if a little ‘crowded’ when we were there in March).
I recommend Nepal Hiking to anyone interested in trekking and we will be back!
Thanks again to all of you who made our trek such a happy and memorable experience.
We just spent 1 month in Nepal and we completed a 18-days trek with Nepal Hiking. We bought the trek on the internet and were a little concerned by the agency and services offered. From the first until the last day, Tilak and these employees have managed to make it unforgettable and they exceeded our expectations at any time. A special thanks to the guide and the porter, they have been wonderful with us.
Thank you once again to Tilak and his team. I highly recommend this agency.
I have been with Nepal Hiking twice now, and I’m sure there will be a third time. I did the Gokyo/Everest Base Camp trek with them in 2007. When we were planning a new trip to Nepal this past Christmas, I didn’t even both to look at other companies. I was so impressed with Nepal Nepal Hiking’s service the first time that I contacted Mr. Tilak again and booked our new trip.
In fact, the owner Mr. Tilak is such a nice fellow that we met him for dinner and we still keep in touch. All of their staff from Mr. Tilak and Mr. Bhairam to the guides, porters and drivers are top notch professionals.
I will definitely highly recommend this company to anyone planning to visit Nepal.
I have been travelling a lot, but the trekking trip to Gokyo Lake, Chola Pass and Everest Base Camp was the best holiday, I have ever spent in my life. Like five years ago in the Annapurna region, there was nothing at all to complain.
In one word, everything was perfect again. Thank you very much for the fantastic arrangement, planning and organisation of our trip. The service was great and absolutely professional.
Every day we could enjoy spectacular views, sceneries and landscapes. I will never forget these days in my life.
A special Thank You also to our guide Lok and our porter Raj. They were the best possible duo you can imagine, always nice, kind and helpful. Once I was struggling on one day, they even carried my small backpack. Eventually we became friends very soon.
This was our second time in Nepal, but definitely not the last one. And of course you will arrange and plan our third trip as well. There is no doubt about it ! Thank you very much again for everything. I really do appreciate your kindness and hospitality.
Take care and all the best. See you soon again.
Good Morning Bhairam,
We wanted to write to you to once again thank you very much for arranging a wonderful trek and experience for us in Nepal. The entire trip was professionally organised without fault.
I would also like to inform you of the very high standard of customer service provided to us by both Raghu and Vim. At all times during the trek they were attentive, professional, punctual and always looking out for us to secure good accommodation and to ensure that we were comfortable. Please pass on our many thanks and high praise to both gentlemen.
Thank you very much Bhairam. We will recommend Nepal Hiking to any friends or family travelling to Nepal.
All the best,
I am really happy to travel with your company. This is third time (Helambu circuit, Himalayas crossing by jeeps and Upper Mustang).
We have very professional and friendly guides. Cook who prepare very delicious food. All staff is polite and friendly.
Sometime I ask about changes in program and your company help me do the best as quickly as possible. I never forget how Tilak helped us with helicopter rescue of our daughter from mountains. She was really ill with high fewer. We were short of money and only thanks to Tilak all this helicopter operation was done.
I don’t know what more you need to improve. As for me – you are perfect company and I don’t want to travel with another one).
All the best,
We would like to thank you and to your team for making our trip so much better. We have had such a fabulous time and have seen such magnificent and beautiful scenery wherever we went. We will never, ever forget coming to visit your amazing country.
You run a great company and I will not hesitate to recommend Nepal Hiking to anyone who asks.
You have friends in Bulgaria!
Annapurna Sanctuary trek went well. Reservations and multiple questions handled patiently and professionally. All the arrangements went as promised,or when unseen circumstances arose, dealt with promptly and effectively. My guide, Ram, was good company. He was also experienced and professional in his conduct. Staff all friendly and helpful, with little touches beyond the call of duty which were welcome and appreciated.
Hope to travel with you again next year.
Thank you so much for organizing the most wonderful trek in the world!
We had the best time, tanks to our thoughtful, kind, professional and funny guide, Narayan, and our porter, Kapil, who was just as funny, lively, professional and a joy to be around. Those two made our trek an experience we’ll never forget and it’s thanks to them we can (in the words of Michal Jackson) say “A.B.C, it’s easy as 1 2 3”. Namely, we climbed all the stairs from Birethanti to Annapurna Base Camp, and on the way we saw the most breathtaking sunrises and magnificent mountains we’ve ever laid eyes on.
One might believe that at least once during a one and a half week long trek you’ll get a bit sick of walking, tired of your company, longing for a bit of privacy – but we never did! The reason? We were having too much fun dancing, singing, playing cards, talking and taking in the stunning view of the Himalayas.
Also, I (Sigrun) would like to offer a special thank you to Narayan for organizing the best birthday party ever! How many people can say they celebrated their 23rd birthday in a lodge, dancing disco with a random mix of complete strangers, after eating a special made chicken curry and getting a cake with 23 candles? It was the best, and shows what an incredible caring guide we had!
I guess our praises could go on forever. As my boss told me the other day “you’re glowing when you’re talking about Nepal”. No wonder, since I’m absolutely in love with the country. I hope we can do another trek with our fabulous duo, Narayan and Kapil, someday. For now we’ll live on the memories of the greatest trek of our lives, and yet again: thanks to Nepal Hiking for arranging it, and special thanks to Narayan and Kapil for making it more than we could have hoped for!
First of all I want to say thank you very much to Tilak, to our guide Lok and our porter Raj for their marvelous job. Everything was so well organised and the support of our guide and porter on the trek perfect.
The trip was definitely one of the best I did in my life and childhood dreams came true. I walked on the same steps as all the heroes like Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay. With the help and assistance of your team I reached all targets, such as Gokyo Ri, Cho La Pass, Everest Base Camp and Kalapathar. I guess there is nowhere in the world a better scenery than here. To see “the top of the world” so close was gorgeous and unbelievable.
At the end, I thought I had done everything, before another highlight started. I couldn’t get my return flight from Lukla to Kathmandu because of bad weather conditions. So I decided to walk down to Jiri in 4 days with or guide Lok. It was certainly the hardest thing I have done so far, but eventually one of the most important topics in conversations. The landscape was really beautiful as well and I could enjoy much more of a true Nepal. Here you can see the real life of the local people. There is just one thing I would change, to do it in 6 days instead of 4 !!!
Thank you very much again for everything. I am coming back soon to enjoy another trip with your company.
So I am back in London where it is freezing and grey and dull!
We had a really great time on our Everest base camp trip and thought that our guide Basu was very responsible, organised and took great care to keep us in good health. He made sure that we paced ourselves well and took us to places that served good food, and clean accommodation. I would definitely recommend him and the company to anyone that was thinking of trekking in Nepal.
Hope all is well in Nepal and your business is going o.k. We have been on a trek to ABC (Annapurna Base Camp) with Ram and Babu from Sep. 29 to Oct. 11, 2003. Since we returned to KTM very late on the day before we flew back to Germany there was no chance to visit you in your office in Kathmandu. However, we just wanted to give a brief feedback regarding the our trek.
First of all, Ram and Babu have been absolutely fantastic and took the greatest care of us. We had a wonderful time trekking with both them. Everything went smoothly and with-out any problems. Instead of starting the trek in Phedi Ram suggested to start in Naya Pul. We discussed that with him and he convinced us that the way up from Naya Pul would be a little bit easier and not as steep. Since he knows the area so well we certainly trusted his judgment and it turned to be a very good decision.
The climb up to Hille on the first day was rather easy and a good start to loosen up our legs after sitting in planes and buses for many hours during the last few days. We then hiked on to Ghorepani where we unfortunately encountered the Maoists. Ram handled the situation very well and we had no problems with them. The third day we trekked to Tadapani and on the fourth day we made it to Chhomorung.
Baerbel and I believe that this was a better way up because it gave us extra nights on rather high altitude to get used to the altitude and to prepare for the further hike up to ABC. We would support to recommend this way to other clients of your agency, in particular because we went back over Phedi and then realized how steep the trail is. We do not think that it is a good thing to do on the very first day of the trek.
Ram and Babu never rushed things and we had a very relaxing time. We took enough rests during the day and never felt too exhausted at the end of the day. Ram organized everything from food to drinks and we did not have to do anything but to enjoy the trek. His English is very good and he explained and pointed out many interesting things about Nepali people and the country. He seemed to very knowledgeable and never lost his patience despite all our questions. Babu also speaks reasonable English and both of them tried to teach us some Nepali. I am afraid we failed miserably trying to pronounce the words correctly. It always made us all laugh a lot, though.
We have been truly lucky to have Ram as our guide and also Babu added a lot to this great experience. We already have and will continue to recommend your agency to all of our friends. Most of them are hiking a lot and maybe they will plan a trip to Nepal in the near future also. In that case your agency will be their first point of contact since you seem to have very friendly and reliable people like Ram and Babu working for you.
Please give our best wishes and regards also to both of them if you speak to them again. We believe they are currently trekking in the Everest region.
All the best to you and good look with your future. We hope to see you again in Nepal some day.
I am writing to say how much we enjoyed our trek in the Annapurna region. We were very fortunate to have such a good guide (Ram) and such good porters (Amar and Babu).
In particular I would like to let you know some of the things that we especially valued.
Flexible itinerary designed to enable us to do the things we wanted to do, and modified as we went along when circumstances changed.
This was always a very high priority for our guide. Ram monitored us, our environment and our circumstances continually and closely. We felt reassured that he took our safety very seriously, particularly with respect to the physical terrain, our health and our potential to get lost in unfamiliar city streets.
Accommodation was always clean, and respect was shown for our privacy. Care was taken to ensure we were comfortable.
Information and advice:
Information and advice was invaluable. This included Ram’s local knowledge of the area, his awareness of Western food requirements and potential difficulties, his encouragement at times, and his guidance with respect to local customs and expectations.
Friendly, helpful and unobtrusive:
Our guide and porters were friendly at all times and helpful. They were never intrusive or pushy. If we needed to be hurried along it was always done gently and carefully (e.g. ordering meals).
We were particularly grateful for the “airport to airport” service of your company, for the protection and advice regarding touts at the airport, and for the welcome and care taken to establish the initial framework for the trek.
In addition when we needed a solution to a problem it was provided quickly and without fuss (for example when we left our passes in Kathmandu and we were in Pokhara).
It was wonderful not to have to organise a thing from the moment we arrived until we left.
We were also very pleased to find that your company ensures that your guides and porters have appropriate clothing and are well looked after during the trek.
Thank you again Tilak for the experience of a lifetime. I hope to return to your wonderful Nepal very soon.
I would very much appreciate you passing on our thanks to Ram, Amar and Babu.
With our very best wishes,
Dear Tilak, Surya and Ramesh,
It’s been 1.5 month since I returned to Taiwan. Time flee but I never forget my promise to send my hearty recommendation. Because you are worth! 🙂 Take care, my Friends.
The first time I saw Tilak at airport, I knew I made a right decision. Although he was not our eventual tour guide, I felt a trust from his sincerity and the way he welcomed us. With his profession and organized trekking, I and my sister had a enjoyable adventure during Poon Hill trekking (December 2003) and in Chitwan.
Of cause, I have to especially thank our tour guides. Not only was the trekking itself a wonderful experience but also Surya and Ramesh did a good job and had been very help-ful. They made the trekking very interesting and full of fun. They both were responsible for doing their part. Surya’s introduction during the trekking and Ramesh’s whistle by leaf (any kind!), folk song we learnt for the first time and the nights we talked and shared… We thank them for those good memories.
I wouldn’t experience the beautiful landscape of Nepal without their company. I’m greatly looking forward to coming back to Nepal in the future and see them. So I would like to highly recommend Nepal Hiking to the peoples who are planning to trek in Nepal.
Dear Basu and Hari,
I have enjoyed the last three weeks – Annapurna Circuit Trek very much. You have both made my time in the Annapurna region very memorable.
I have learnt so much form you both, and I will go away with very special memories of you both.
I can’t believe you could be so happy and smiling everyday, it was amazing.
Thank you so much.
Lots of love,
Thank you so much for such fantastic 3 weeks – I will never forget the time I spent in Nepal – trekking amongst such beautiful views, mountains and people. The memories will stay with me forever.
* Basu – Thank you for all the answer to our “Silly” questions, you are a fountain of information my friend!!
* Hari – You always smiled – ever with our bag on your back – I’ll always remember.
Hope to stay in touch.
Good luck to both of you in the future.
Thank you very much for your company and good guidance throughout the trip. You have been fun to be with very cheerful, singing folk songs, whistling and enjoying yourself as much. It’s great to know you. Hope to see you again & best wishes to you and your family.
My trek to Lo – Mangthang (Upper Mustang) was spectacular. All of the people I met in the hotels, along the trekking path, etc. are extremely friendly and helpful of course. The landscape is the wonderful. Ram, my guide and Bikul, my porter were absolutely helpful. Ram, profanely taught me a lot of Nepali of practical use. We became like a little family because the group size was so small.
Thank you very much.
We would like to thank a lot the company Nepal Hiking for the perfectly organized trip and the nice time we had in the mountains. The good professional and a very friendly person who contributed to our good spirit during the entire trip.
I enjoyed both the trip (Nepal & Tibet) and all my dealings with Nepal Hiking very much. The responses to my e-mails during the planning of the trip were always on time and with all the right answers. From the moment I arrived in TIA every-thing was well planned and performed. I am looking forward to my next trip with you!
My recently completed trek to Everest Base Camp was a wonderful experience. Not only was it the spectacular scenery, challenging walking, and friendliness of the local people that contributed towards this experience, but also the efficiency of Nepal Hiking’s manager, Tilak, in helping me to organise it all, and the outstanding service provided by my guide, Ram, in helping me to achieve my goal of reaching Base Camp quickly and safely.
I have no hesitation in recommending the services of Nepal Hiking to any prospective client, and in particular recommending Ram to anyone who wishes to have a friendly, helpful, caring, and knowledgeable guide, whose English communication skills are excellent.
A sincere thank you to all involved in helping me to achieve a life-long ambition.
Finally we arrived healthy at home and look back with a touch of melancholy. I would like to thank you for your encouragement and your commitment. We are highly satisfied regarding your services.
Specifically your fellow employees Hari and Bikul rank among the best in qualities needed for such a project. Please convey our warmest greetings to Hari and Bikul. We will never forget how complaisant and terribly nice they were.
Let us keep in touch!
Thank you very much for a very enjoyable trek. Kendy and I were very pleased with the quality of our trek, the level of organisation and the excellent service of our guides and porters. We would be happy to use Nepal Hiking again in the future and we look forward to keeping in touch.
I had a wonderful time in Nepal, and always felt that your company could not have been more helpful throughout. Thank you for all your help since the first day I e-mailed, I shall certainly be recommending you to my friends who would also like to visit Nepal.
It is my pleasure to talk about my guide “Ganga” who works for Nepal Hiking. He helped me and my wife during our Nepal trekking. With the help of Nepal Hiking and our great guide Ganga, we left Kathmandu on 12th March for the classic Everest trek from Jiri to Everest Base Camp and back to Lukla (23 days). We are now in Kathmandu after more than 3 weeks wonderful trekking trip, and spending some days before going back home, and we are now emailing our friends and family and telling them about our great trip that we had in Everest with our guide. To speak about our guide in brief, he is an excellent guide, has been trained by Ministry of Tourism Nepal, good humor, and knows all aspects of Nepali life style, and culture.
Lastly, we highly recommend the excellent professional service and personal care of our guide during our trekking tour in the Everest Region.
We were very satisfied and Mr. Ganga made an excellent tribute to our holiday in Nepal
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I have joined back in office today.. and hence sending the mail.
My trek was beautiful. I had one of the best times in my life, during the trek. Can’t thank Basu enough for making my trip so comfortable and enjoyable. Like I told Basu, I was sure that I would not be able to make it beyond 2-3 days.. as I did not consider myself to be very fit… but surprisingly I made it almost without any difficulty at all.. and in fact enjoyed my way right till the end. Also, the rafting trip was also an experience I will remember
All in all, I think you have a very professional organisation and one of the best guides in Basu. I hope to do more treks with you in the future.. maybe one in the coming year itself. Also, a lot of people out here after hearing from me, are quite keen to do such treks. I will put them in touch with you.
Do convey my regards to Basu and wish him my very best in life…
Nepal Hiking was like a family for us in Nepal, they did more than everything to make the trip (Jomsom Trek) as comfortable as possible. Thanks for the nice time with all of you.
Dear Tilak, Ramesh and Raj,
Thank you so much for organizing such a wonderful trip for us in Nepal. This trip makes us to understand Nepali culture and to enjoy the excellent natural scenery. We take pleasure in the trekking the most and will never forget the time we have when trekking around the Annapurna region. Ramesh is our tour guide and eventually he becomes a friend of ours after the 6-day trip. He is a smart, fun, helpful and responsible person. He arranges our trip very precisely, reacts very quickly and understands our requests thoroughly all the time. Therefore, we didn’t worry about anything but to enjoy the trekking, Nepali food and the beautiful landscape of Nepal. It’s not easy to trek along the route sometimes, and he has been kind in taking great care of us that makes our trekking very interesting and fills with fun. Most importantly, we find that Ramesh has great enthusiasm of being tourist guide and deep passion about his country. Also, we would like to thank our potter Raj. He is responsible of carrying our heavy backpacks throughout the trip, and mostly, gets a nice-viewed room for us during the trekking route. Undoubtedly, we will have Nepal Hiking to organize our tour in our next visit to Nepal. We hope you all enjoy your work and look forward to seeing you soon Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Take care and best regards,
A thoroughly enjoyable and memorable experience. The service provided by your company was excellent.
We thoroughly enjoyed our trip with you and when we had to change our itinerary at the last minute it was no problem for you. Our guide, Bhairam and our porters, Hari and Tilak were really lovely and very knowledgeable and good at Rummy!!!
The trip to Everest Base Camp and Kalar Pathar in June was fantastic. Thank you for your help and support. Ramesh, my guide was excellent, I couldn’t have asked for more in a guide. He was helpful, caring, had excellent English and good knowledge of the area. The food and accommodation were all fantastic and the trip was well organised.
Nepal Hiking Agency was overall very helpful and professional. It is nice to know that you have a company you can rely on in Kathmandu if anything should be needed.
Thank you very much Mr. Tilak for a very enjoyable experience. I had a memorable trek to Gokyo Ri and Kala Pathar destinations. The organization of the trek was perfect and the support you provided me during the whole journey excellent.
I want to emphasize specially the wonderful job that your guide Ram did all the trek long. He is very experienced (he has already done the same trek more than ten times), very serviceable and supportive and his knowledge of most of the peaks, mountains and other details of the trail made my trek an unforgettable experience.
His English speaking level allowed us to keep a very friendly and warm relationship and he provided me with a lot of information about the Himalayas and its culture and costumes.
I would be happy to use Nepal Hiking again in the future and we look forward to keeping in touch.
Our trip was made possible by the expertise of the guides who did their utmost to accommodate our party. Hiring the horses made all the difference. The cook managed wonderful filling meals (and added snacks) under difficult conditions. Thank you Dil. Our Sherpas and porters were always very helpful polite and considerate. It was a wonderful experience. Thank you.
The travel and the organisation was perfect, we will recommend to our friends. Thanks a lot.
Nerea Zabala – Jose Lopez
Namaste Mr Tilak,
Just wanted to let you know that I got home ok, and all is well here with my children, they were glad to have there mum home.
I had the most wonderful time in Tibet and Nepal, I loved the Everest Trek, and all the friends I made and the people I met.
I will come back, either Annapurna trek or Mera Peak, and I hope I will be able to do my trekking with your company.
When I have all my photos I will send some to your computer.
Namaste Mr. Tilak,
I am Ron and was with the Cook party (from UK) that took the Gokyo Lake Trek from 12th April to 26th April 2006. The food and entertainment at the Priest House restaurant were both excellent and most enjoyable; I thank you for providing that opportunity.
However, that is not the only reason for my writing this letter: I wish to thank ‘Nepal Hiking Pvt. Ltd.’ as a whole for making our journey a really enjoyable, worry-free experience. In particular Ganga was the perfect guide and I would not hesitate to go on another journey with him in the future. In fact I would like to return to Nepal next year and use his services once more. His personality, extensive knowledge and professionalism all combine to make him a very like able character. I further commend Ganga on his judgment and decision making during the trek.
Before I embarked upon this journey, the news reports about Nepal made it appear that it was not a place to go. Our entire party is thankful that we listened to you, Mr. Tilak, and put ourselves in your most competent care. If we had simply taken note of the news me-dia reports, we would have missed this opportunity to visit Nepal. Yes, there is a military presence, but there are only a handful of ‘checkpoints’ in the mountains. They certainly did not interfere with any travellers and were very pleasant and friendly. The whole time I was in Nepal I felt very safe.
I recommend “Nepal Hiking”‘ to all those who wish to go trekking in Nepal.
Thank-you once again, Mr. Tilak. I hope to be in contact with you in the near future.
After we spent 4 days in Austria, we just arrived home. Everest base camp trekking with your company was a good selection. Your professionalism and hospitality was highly appreciated by our members.
Thank you again! and we will contact you next time when we plan another group. Good luck to you!
I apologize for not writing sooner.
I wish to thank you for the marvelous trek we had in April with Mr. Ram. We enjoyed it immensely.
Our guide Mr. ram and his porters were just brilliant, helping us in every way possible. The trek was exceptionally good value.
Thank you too for your excellent service and kindness shown to us during our time in Kathmandu.
Your company is one of excellence.
“Great personalized service. Very efficient and resourceful even during unforeseen situations. When we could not cross the Nepal-Tibet border because of a road block strike, a helicopter service was arranged for us last minute.”
I have been home for about a week now. Everyday I think about the great time I had on the Classic Everest Trek. Before arriving in Kathmandu I was a little concerned about whether I had taken on something that was maybe too much for me. Once I was picked up at the airport and met some of your staff, my mind was put at ease. From the first day I was treated with respect. All my questions were answered and all my needs were met.
Once on the trail my safety and health were of primary importance to my guide Bhim, and my porter Narayan. Every morning they asked how I was feeling, if I had a headache, and how did I sleep. They said, ‘ If you’re happy, we’re happy.”
Bhim was a wealth of knowledge. Any questions I had about the people, animals, birds, plants, mountains, politics, or whatever, Bhim usually had an answer, and he was also eager to hear about my part of the world. Narayan’s greatest asset was his strength. He carried my pack up and down the hills everyday for 22 days with ease, sometimes carrying all my gear leaving me with nothing to do but enjoy the day.
I would not hesitate recommending these two employees to anyone wishing to have a fantastic holiday in Nepal.
Thank you Tilak, and all your staff for providing me with the trip of a lifetime. I also highly recommend the use of Nepal Hiking Agency.
I am writing to say Tilak, how much I appreciated all you did for me to make my trek and my time I spent in Nepal thoroughly enjoyable. I found your company to be extremely professional. I would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending you to anybody. In fact if you ever have any potential customers who would like any reassurance please pass on my email to them and I shall be more than willing to recommend you.
The level of service you gave me was excellent. I wish you all the very best of you and your company in the future.
We would like to write a short note to say thanks to you for organising our trip, and to encourage other travellers to Nepal to use Nepal Hiking Agency. We did the Everest Base Camp trek, but only had 15 days due to work commitments – Mr Tilak set-out a personalised schedule for us which allowed us to take in all of the sights, reach Base Camp and get back safely. But that’s not all our flight was cancelled from Sydney, which lost us a day of our trip. At a time when we were pretty stressed, and fearing that our already tight time frame would jeopardize our trip, Mr Tilak was fantastic and reorganised everything (airport pickup, hotel in Kathmandu, rearranged flight to Lukla, change the trekking schedule and accommodation).
For those of you coming to Nepal for the first time, like me, you may be considering doing it all yourself. My experience with Nepal Hiking Agency over the last few weeks is that it is better to leave this to the experts. Trying to get flights to and from Lukla, understanding weather conditions, understanding your own health, forecasting your progress etc. is all time and energy consuming. In my opinion, save your energy for trekking. These guys understand the local infrastructure and how to get things done.
We were guided by Basu, a guy we now would consider a friend. His insights into the area, the landscape, the people were great – mind you he has been doing this for 20 years, so he is an expert guide. We were a bit jaded as we approached Base camp, but he had great advice on altitude sickness prevention and when one of us had a bad night (fever) – it was Basu who took charge and we were able to proceed (if left to our own devices we would have lost a lot of time and perhaps even stopped). He’s also a great card player, and we spent many, in fact most, nights playing (partners). He gave us flexibility in our trip – so we could stop when we were tired or hungry, or keep going if we weren’t. We ate in the best places and there was always plenty. He set a good pace and because of this we were able to reach all of our goals in the time we had, and have a good chat along the way.
We also met other travellers (from Canada and Portugal) who were with Nepal Hiking, and had a ball. We tended to meet up at different times and stay in the same places usually. Their guides (Ram and Hari) and porters were also well organised, and so there was a real feeling of being part of a bigger group – even though there was only three of us. In such awesome country, it’s good to have that kind of security of mind.
I had never been to Nepal before or indeed done any trekking. I can honestly say that this was the best holiday ever, and that it was made better by Nepal Hiking Agency. Their guides, porters, accommodation and food were great. We were also treated to two weeks of blue skies and sunshine, which made a beautiful place even better. The highlight of our trip was probably the Chukkung Valley, with magnificent views of Amadablam, Makalu, Island Peak and the roof of the world. Base Camp was a magnificent sense of achievement, but the trip as a whole will live in the memory for ever for the generosity and hospitality of our hosts.
Thank You Mr Tilak
(ps – I would be happy to provide more feedback to prospective visitors, who can get my email address from Mr Tilak)
Just wanted to say thank you so much for our trek in Nepal, we had a fabulous time and are already planning to come back and do the Annapurna circuit! Our guide Ganga and our Sherpa Hari where wonderful, very friendly and helpful and really good laugh too!
Everything ran smoothly from the first to the last day, very well organised and completely hassle free. Thank you once again, and if anyone I know is thinking Nepal, I will send them your way!
Dear Mr. Tilak,
We just wanted to thank you and your company for providing us with an experience of a lifetime. We were a little nervous booking a trip over the Internet but were pleasantly surprised by the professional staff that assisted us in every aspect of our trip. Our guide Basu and porter Pasang exceeded all of our expectations. They were constantly making sure that we were comfortable, not having any altitude issues, and teaching us the cultural aspects of Nepal. Basu was extremely flexible and allowed us to hike at our own pace (slow). When my wife had a cold during the trip he was very concerned about her health and provided some local medicine to make her feel better. We would strongly recommend your company and Basu as a guide for anyone interested in trekking in the Himalayas. We will definitely use your company in the future for our treks.
I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for the wonderful preparations for our trip. It was exactly what we wanted, we always felt safe and looked after by your staff wherever we went. The fact that they were unfailingly happy and cheerful and supportive. I have already recommended you to several people.
I can’t say enough about how wonderful Narayan and Bikram were. They both went out of their way to make our trip special and to protect and look after us. They were also kind and helpful to many others that we met along the way, which just added to the pleasure of our trip. Terry and I are both kind people and we like to surround ourselves with people who are also kind. It was a big challenge for us, but with Narayan’s planning and encouragement and Bikram’s quiet support we really felt comfortable and confident that we could achieve it. Thank-you again,
I too wish you, your family and all your staff all the best in the new year.
Just a quick note thank you very much for organising our trek, we all really enjoyed it, we will keep the memories for ever. Thank you for helping Tony so much. He is well now. We will recommend you to any one who would like to do the trek.
Namaste Tilak and all at Nepal Hiking
I would just like to thank you for the excellent organisation and flexibility of my trekking, rafting and safari experience with yourselves.
My thanks go to Bhimsen, my guide, and Ashok, my sherpa, who without a doubt made my trip even more enjoyable. I enjoyed my time walking your Nepalese flat (up and down the hillside) and experiencing your culture. When I left for the trek I was concerned about my ability to achieve my goal of reaching Gokyo Ri. All my fears were unfounded and the one thing that prevented me from achieving my goal was the amount of snowfall at Namche Bazaar on our acclimatization day and the flight delay to Lukla. When it became clear that we would not reach Gokyo in time Bhimsen gave me the option to alter our plans and still achieve a dream of seeing Mount Everest up close. My sense of achievement is still as strong one month after my return and I would certainly recommend your-selves to others thinking of trekking in Nepal.
The accommodation was excellent in both Kathmandu and on the trek. I found also the guest house accommodation to be excellent at all times. I also very much appreciated the care I was given by Ashok and Bhimsen on the trek. I too feel like they have become my friends and will think of them often.
I am a mature lady who was travelling on my own and believe that the arrangements you made throughout my trip was just first class.
If anyone would like to contact me about my experience I would gladly assist them if you pass on my email to them.
I just wanted to thank you and your wonderful staff for my incredible trip to Gokyo Ri, Chola Pass, Kalapathar and Everest Base Camp. It was the best trip of my life. I especially want to thank my guide, Ram, and porter, Santos, who made the trip much easier than I could ever imagine. The scenery was incredible and will be forever be remembered by me. Your staff in Kathmandu was always there to make sure that every-thing was running smoothly. After talking to those on the trail who did not have guides or porters about their difficulties, I cannot imagine even attempting the trip without the wonderful help that I had.
I also had a great time on the tour of Kathmandu, river rafting and Chitwan National Park. It was a great way to end my trip. The hotels in Kathmandu and in Chitwan were especially nice. I did not expect such luxury at such a great price.
I look forward to returning to Nepal to do the Annapurna Circuit. I look forward to seeing everyone again.
Thank you once again for making our trekking holiday to Gokyo and Kalapathar a holiday we will never forget. We found Nepal Hiking perfect in the organization of our holi-day from the moment we arrived in Kathmandu until the day of our departure. We couldn’t have asked for a more professional team of people during every step of our trip. Narayan was the perfect guide, gentlemen and friend and he really went out of his way to make sure we were well looked after at all times. We always felt perfectly safe in his hands and cannot thank him enough for his kindness, enthusiasm and good spirits during the entire trek. Nothing was too much trouble for him and he was always making sure that we had no altitude problems and allowing us to hike at our own pace (even carrying our ruck-sacks if needed!). We met up with several other groups traveling with Nepal Hiking and they were all very happy and couldn’t speak too highly of your agency. The evenings spent playing cards with Narayan and other trekkers we met along the way will also re-main special in our memories. Our two porters were also absolute gems.
I am already looking forward to traveling to Nepal again in the near future and it will certainly be with Nepal Hiking and of course with Narayan.
Thank you and keep up the good work.
I would like to thank you very much for making our trek an unforgettable experience. I can also thank you on behalf of my friends, who were together with me on this trip.
You have set the standards very high in terms of customer satisfaction and we were very impressed with your professionalism. Please pass along our feedback to our wonderful guide Balaram.
Thanks very much and we wish to come back in the near future.
Just a note to thank you for organising such a wonderful trek through the Annapurnas to Muktinath. Thanks to Bhairam our guide, Yem and Krishna our porters. It was 27 years ago I first went to Nepal but I don’t think I will wait that long again. Despite the many changes that have occurred over the years, the peaks of the Himalayas will never cease to amaze. It was truly a life changing experience. The Nepali people are friendly and hospitable – we look forward to the chance to make it all happen again in the not too distant future. We hope you are all keeping well and wish you well for the future.
Bye for now
In the following my father, my brother and I would like to give you some feedback about our trip.
Firstly, we would like to thank our trekking guide Hari. He was always very friendly, helpful and caring. Even though we had lost 2 days in Kathmandu due to bad weather, we were still able to do our trip (including all the items of the itinerary!). That was only possible because Hari organized everything very well. Thank you very much Hari! He adapted perfectly to our speed and we never were in a hurry, in fact we had a lot of time to take a lot of photos (something that is very important to us). If there was a day we didn’t feel so well, he even carried our backpacks. We think that’s a very special service!
Besides showing us the mountains, Hari also told us a lot about Nepal’s culture and people. He knows a lot about history, the different customs and religions and it was always very interesting to listen to him. Hari also told us about his family, so like that we got a good impression about how a normal Nepali family lives and what life is like in Nepal. That was very interesting to us because information like that is hard to find in a guided book.
The tea houses were always good. If there was a lower and a higher class tea house Hari would always pick the higher class one.
After spending 18 days with Hari, he was not only our guide anymore, actually he has become our friend and we are sure that we’ll keep in touch with him.
We also want to thank our porters Gopi and Kasi. They were always very friendly and helpful and they never complained about carrying our (too) heavy bags, in fact they were always smiling. Thanks a lot for that!
Secondly, the white water rafting was a new and good experience to us. The water of the Trisuli River was a refreshing contrast to the mountains.
Thirdly, we had a very good time at Chitwan National Park. The Jungle Island Resort is a great location! The jungle walks were very exciting and riding on an elephant is just a great experience. Not to forget the elephant bathing! We came very close to a Rhino, something we would have never expected to see. Our jungle guides were always nice and willing to answer our questions about the different animals and plants.
Altogether, we are very happy that we chose Nepal Hiking. Everything was perfectly organized, we never felt worried or left alone.
The hotel that you had picked for us (Hotel de l’Annapurna) was a great choice. It’s a very nice hotel and its location downtown Kathmandu is just perfect for going sightseeing or shopping. The guided sightseeing tour through Kathmandu the first day was very interest-ing, too. Thanks a lot to our guide Saroj Chitrakar who was very friendly and full of knowledge!
Last but not least, we would like to thank you, Tilak, for managing the big problems we had with our international flights. Even though Nepal Hiking had nothing to do with our international flights because we had booked them through a German travel agency, you helped us to fix this problem caused by our German travel agency. Without you we would have been completely lost and probably we would still be in Kathmandu, waiting and hoping for a flight back home to Germany. That shows that Nepal Hiking really cares about its clients and that its standard of service is very high. In the past we had used German travel companies for organizing trekking trips all around the world. Nepal Hiking’s standard of service is at least equal to them, or even higher. That’s why we can completely recommend Nepal Hiking for holidays in Nepal, no matter if it’s trekking, sightseeing or going to the jungle.
Please feel free to publish our e-mail address on your website or to give it to potential clients if they should have any questions about holidays in Nepal or about Nepal Hiking.
Thanks again to the entire Nepal Hiking Agency! You made our stay in Nepal a wonderful and unforgettable experience.
We are looking very forward to seeing you again, maybe soon on another trip, of course organized by Nepal Hiking.
I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to all at Nepal Hiking. First, thank you for organizing a great itinerary on short notice, and for being flexible in the planning of my trip. When my original travel plans were cancelled on me (through no fault of my own) by another company, your company made sure I was taken care of and handled all arrangements professionally and efficiently. I was very pleased with the punctuality of your team and the courtesy that I was shown while in Nepal, as well as through email correspondence.
Secondly, I would like to thank Bhairam for organizing all of the transportation, as well as a city tour with Anuj. The city tour was fantastic, and Bhairam was there to personally greet me on my arrival into Kathmandu, all transfers to and from the airport, and also be-fore the city tour. This personal treatment is very much appreciated, and gives a weary traveler much needed peace of mind.
Lastly, and most importantly, I owe a great deal of thanks to Hari, my guide. Hari saw to all arrangements while on the trek, which means he performed multiple roles: guide, historian, travel agent, waiter, physician, friend, and more. On most days Hari carried my pack, leaving nothing for me to do except enjoy the scenery. Hari is filled with great information about the trail, the people, the mountains, the cultures, and he always secured the best lodges and the best rooms. He also allowed me to proceed at my own pace and kept a constant watch over my health, which is invaluable at high altitude. Even after the trek, Hari accompanied me into Thamel to help me negotiate prices on souvenirs, when his obligations toward his duties had already been completed. This personal attention is what I appreciate most from Nepal Hiking and from Hari. Much thanks also goes out to my porter, Puri, who still amazes me at the amount of stuff he carries while I struggle taking a few steps!
Please feel free to distribute my email address as reference for future clients who have questions, I would be more than happy to recommend your company’s services and Hari as a guide.

We would like to thank you and all your staff for the great stay in Nepal.
At the beginning we would like to thank you for organizing our tailor-made trip in Kathmandu, trekking to Everest Base Camp, Kathmandu Valley and Chitwan National Park. All were perfectly organized.
We would like to thank you staff for great hospitality and flexibility during the trip. Especially our guides Ganga, Salik and Anuj and our porter Mani.
We can honestly recommend your office for all, who wants to visit Nepal.
Thank you again,
I just wanted to thank you for organizing the trip so well. Everything was fantastic. Also, I would like to point out the excellent job that our guide did. I feel that without him, the trip would not have been the same.
I would like to thank Nepal Hiking, Tilak and Bhairam for organizing and always being their for me for my Kala Pathar trip. Your services and friendliness was outstanding and I would especially like to thank my guide Hari for all he has done for me on my trek. Hari was constantly kind and help and I always felt like my interests, comfort and safety were his first priority. He took as good a care of me as my mother would. Thank you all for a trip I will fondly remember for the rest of my life.
I’m sorry that I haven’t written sooner but I have been sick with bronchitis. I am doing better now. Our trip was wonderful thanks to you and our guide Ram, who could not have done a better job. He was waiting when we arrived at the Kathmandu airport, made sure that we got our gear, got us on a plane to Lukla when other trekkers had been waiting for several days, took us to the nicest teahouses when other groups could not get in, made sure we were safe and comfortable and got us to Base Camp and got me to Kala Patthar, and most of all, became our friend.
Whatever he was paid, he deserves more. All of our group would be happy to be references for anyone who would like a recommendation for Nepal Hiking and especially for Ram as guide.
The trek was hard but your country is beautiful and the people of the mountains were kind, friendly and helpful. We will always cherish the memories of our trip.
We’ve been home now for a week, so I thought I should write on behalf of my colleagues to express our thanks for the Annapurna Trek. It was thoroughly enjoyed by all and we were most impressed by the friendly and organised manner in which it was run, not just by yourself, but by Bikesh and his porters, Krishna, Arjun and Bhim. After our first ‘macho’ day, Bikesh taught us all to walk uphill in the mountains and ensured we would have enough spare energy to enjoy the magnificent scenery and company.
The real measure of a trekking organisation is, of course, how it responds to a major problem. The actions of Bikesh and yourself when Richard Gaffney had his accident proved your total professionalism. Richard is still in plaster (he had to have further manipulative work done on his return) but expects to be fit again in three weeks or so. We all thank you for looking after him so well.
Needless to say, we will contact you if or when we return to Nepal, and will recommend you to anyone.
Thank you once again,
I just returned home from my trek to Tengboche.
It was absolutely AMAZING, a magical experience!
Narayan is a wonderful, knowledgeable and trustworthy guide. During the whole trek, he made sure I was happy, comfortable, warm, well-fed and, most of all, safe. Anything I could want, he made sure it happened. He even took me to a bakery in Namche on my birthday and had a cake with candles and a birthday present for me. I’ll never forget my birthday and the time I spent on the Everest trail, all thanks to Narayan!
You are lucky to have a guide like Narayan under your employ.
Thank you for arranging such an enjoyable trek!
All the best,
I would just like to thank Ganga, our guide, and his team for making our trip so much better. They were professional, friendly, extremely helpful at all times. They all looked after us very well and made the whole experience more pleasant. I would recommend Ganga at any time, as he is an excellent guide. He assessed the group and adjusted the trip and pace according to our needs.
I just wanted to write and thank you for organising such a wonderful trip for my son and I in Nepal. We have had such a fabulous time and have seen such magnificent and beautiful scenery wherever we went. We will never, ever forget coming to visit you.
Most importantly, thank you so much also for your choice of guide for us, you couldn’t have chosen anyone better. Thapa was just perfect and all the time we felt so safe with him and so well looked after. We felt extremely privileged that he shared some of his immense knowledge of Nepal and Buddhism with us and in such a thoughtful and under-standing way. Not only that, he was the best and kindest companion throughout our stay. We enjoyed his company tremendously and have greatly missed him since our return. No one could have put more time and effort into making our stay as wonderful as it was.
Not to forget our incredible driver Ram who coped with the most difficult roads at times in such a superb way. We always felt safe in the car with him and what a courteous and kind man he is. His smile made the day light up and we very much appreciated all his hard work on our behalf as well as his comforting company throughout the trip. He was just great and I thank him very much for all he did for us.
I am sorry that we couldn’t say goodbye to you in person Tilak but thank you for your very kind welcome of us to your country. It was good to meet you after all our months of correspondence. Nick and I left Nepal full of the most wonderful memories and I will have no hesitation in recommending you to anyone I know who plans to visit your beautiful and vibrant country.
We just thank you from the bottom of our hearts and leave you with grateful appreciation of all your efforts to make our trip as truly magnificent as it was.
My trip was well organized, and I had a very kind guide. I could enjoy my time in Nepal very much.
Everything was fine! Thank you very much.
We had a great time on the trek with Basu and Santu. They were terrific. Thank you so much for the wonderful experience!
My friends and I went on the Everest Base Camp Trek Nov. 17th – Dec. 4th.
I would like you to know that throughout the entire trip our guide and porters were simply wonderful. Our guide Basu in particular was very kind, considerate, and consistently helpful.
Trekking through the Himalayas – Nepal countryside itself was truly an experience of a lifetime and the greatest honor for me was the friendship I grew to have with Basu.
I know that it’s very unlikely that he and I will ever meet again however, it is my greatest hope that I will always remember and carry a little of his spirit with me where ever life takes me in the future.
I would like to send Basu a photo of our group and would ask you to please provide me with the correct spelling of his first name.
Of course Nepal Hiking can expect only the highest praise and strong support from all of us.
Thank for your help and thanks again for a truly great trekking experience.
I just wanted to thank you for one of the most wonderful experiences of my life. You and your staff did everything you said you would do and, in many cases, went above and beyond to make sure that we had a pleasant trip. Although you couldn’t have possibly planned the chemistry between myself and the other members of the group, I will give you credit nonetheless. We meshed extremely well, and I now count a number of new friends in my repertoire. You run a terrific company Tilak, and I will not hesitate to recommend Nepal Hiking to anyone who asks. You have also whetted my appetite for travel in Nepal and, in 2 or 3 years, I plan to return and do the Annapurna circuit. Hopefully, Ganga will still be a guide and will be able to do the trip with me. Speaking of which….I wanted to thank Ganga, in particular, for being such a great guide and a great person. I feel honoured to have met him and thoroughly enjoyed his company (as did the rest of the group). I look forward to our next trek together! Special mentions to Bishnu…who often went above and beyond the call of duty and looked after Kamran when he had fallen behind. He is a great kid! Our guide in Kathmandu (who’s name I have forgotten) was also fantastic, and very knowledgeable. You have a great staff! Please feel free to give out my email address to anyone who asks….I’d be happy to answer anyone’s questions.
Best of wishes,
Myself and the rest of the group have been safely back in the UK for a while now. I would like to take this opportunity to say a couple of words about the guide you chose for us, Hari.
Thank you very much on an excellent choice. Hari was without doubt the best individual you could have picked for our group. His gregarious, outgoing and friendly character was an instant hit with us and we immediately warmed to his amiable manner. From the very start of the trek he worked tirelessly to make our lives easier. It would be fair to say that Hari’s idea of providing a service far outdid our’s. Our group were all military personnel so we are used to setting a good pace and having things done efficiently. In these respects we could not have asked for a better leader. He didn’t once complain at our various requests, he stayed flexible, he was always thinking ahead and his local knowledge made the whole experience that much more enjoyable. During the trek we spoke to many other groups and we all, without doubt, agreed that he had given us the best experience.
Please pass on all of our thanks to him once again. Should I return to Nepal I can do him no greater credit than to say I would certainly ask to have him as my guide again.
Once again thank you for your assistance and I wish well in the future.
All the best,
Hope all is well in Kathmandu and beyond: I have been promising to do this for a year and have not got round to it but please feel free to include this as a testimonial on your website:
My wife and I booked a trip from Jiri to Everest Base Camp (November 6 – December 5) through Nepal Hiking. We could not have been more impressed with the excel-lent service, which we received, from our arrival at Kathmandu airport we were treated like visiting dignitaries and made to feel really special. When the hard work began, our guide Bhim, proved to be knowledgeable and friendly with a great sense of humour. Our porter, Subarna (please excuse the spelling if incorrect), was a tower strength, a sharp wit and consumate card player. Without these two gentlemen, the trip would not have been possible and they both worked so hard, on the trek and during the evenings, to ensure we had the time of our lives.
If anybody reading this is remotely worried about altitude sickness or the effects of such a potentially arduous trek upon the body, I would suggest don’t be! Our guide was expert at pointing out weaknesses, checking on how we were feeling and helping us to take rests, or push on harder as we wished. All we had to do was pass round the chocolate, take pictures and enjoy the scenery. I would also heartily recommend taking the extra time off work and doing the longer trek from Jiri, not only is this a really good way of acclimatizing to the higher altitude and strengthening, but the countryside in so beautiful and much quieter than from Lukla and above, and the people are so friendly.
If you have time and energy after your trek, a good way to finish off, is the Royal Chitwan park, which can also be organised through Nepal Hiking and is a fun way to see tigers, rhinos and a diverse range of birds in beautiful wetland countryside.
Back in the confines of my office looking over London on a cold Tuesday afternoon, I will always remember the fun we had and the warm welcome we received on the roof of the world.
Just a short, belated note of thanks to you and your team for making our trek so enjoyable.
We were very impressed with the way your team looked after us, not only on the trek but also post trek and right up to the moment we left Kathmandu your guys were assisting us in every way. That sort of back up was certainly not expected nor taken for granted and we thank you for that.
On the trek all arrangements were exceptionally well handled by our friends Bikram and Arjun who smilingly worked together as a team at all times and in no small way ensured our wellness on the trip. They consulted with us regarding itinerary on a daily basis, were very flexible to our suggestions and kept a watchful eye over us without being over attentive, in fact we cannot think of a single thing your guys could`ve done to improve the trip.
We will be returning to Nepal in Dec 2010 and will definitely be booking our next adventure with your company.
Thanks once again Tilak, Best Wishes to you, your family and your team for a Happy, Healthy & Prosperous New Year.
Happy New Year!!
Please give my warmest regards to Narayan and Krishna. I think about the trek you arranged for Mario and I every day. It was the most amazing experience ever!!! I promise you that someday I will return…and only if I can do the trek with Narayan and Krishna again!!! They were fantastic and a joy to be around!! I love Nepal and I felt totally at home in your country. I hope I can persuade Mario to return with me. We can’t believe we were actually there!!! I wish you the very best for the coming year!!!
This is just a quick note to thank you for all your help with our trip to Nepal. We had the most fantastic time. All the flights ran very smoothly and particular thanks for helping with the extra nights at Fishtail Lodge. Most importantly of all, we couldn’t have asked for a better porter than Krishna.
We have returned to England with very happy memories of your wonderful country.
With best wishes,
Dear future climbers of Himalaya,
We are the nine people of Korean who successfully finished climbing the Island Peak in Khumbu region. Mr. Bikesh Rana and Dendi Sherpa were the guides of us who took charge of main part of guide, trekking, logistics, accommodation, food and climbing, and etc.
We found the two experts were extremely reliable in every aspect of campaign. Dendi is an optimistic, pleasuring, and brave expert, who carried the campaign into realization. Bikesh is the most caring person we ever seen before. He controlled all the minutes and times forward to the peak and backward to the airport. Dendi and Bikesh were the most accountable and capable due for us. Seven porters they hired were as excellent as them. We were all happy and healthy as the success of campaign owing to them.
We highly recommend Dendi’s climbing force to you, and hoping good luck of you and your campaign.
I totally enjoyed my Annapurna Sanctuary trek and the high level of service you offered. I also want to say that Tek was a fantastic guide who helped me many times during the trek and was excellent company.
Nepal Hiking also helped me with travel logistics and complications on the ground.
I’m looking forward to another trek with you folks within the next year.
Namaste Tilak & Team,
Thank you all for making our second EBC trekking trip in Nepal a lovely experience. Everyone was so friendly, courteous, helpful and professional. The care & attention given to me (Olivia) by Chhabi & Raz when I wasn’t well was very reassuring and our best interests were always put first.
From the moment we arrived in Kathmandu to the minute we left Kathmandu at the end of our trip, we were extremely well looked after and would highly recommend Nepal Hiking Trekking to anyone considering visiting Nepal.
With Best Wishes,
Nepal Hiking exceeded our expectations, by far. Our guide was young, but very professional, and obviously well trained and knowledgeable about the trail and working with clients. Likewise, our porter was friendly, hard-working, and well taken care of by the company. Any worries that we had about logistics prior to starting the trek were quickly sequestered, and we really enjoyed a wonderfully planned and executed trip.
Thank you Tilak, Hari, and Ghano!
Just a short note to thank you for arranging a porter/guide for our Everest Base Camp Trip.
Krishna did your company proud. He was polite, knowledgeable, helpful, good humoured and an extremely pleasant person. Both my son and I appreciated his company.
Oh, and he carried a 20kg pack with ease!
I have no hesitation in recommending Krishna or your company to anyone considering a similar trip.
Back in Australia now.
Thanks for your assistance with our trip.
Bhim was excellent and worked in well with all of our group and also the porters that I had arranged from Ghorepani.
Please feel free to use me as a reference for any people using your services in Australia.
It has already been a while since we left Nepal but we would like to let you know about our trip.
The trip has been fabulous. What a beautiful region we went to. All the mountains, people, clouds, sunshine, colors, butterflies, donkeys, cows etc. etc.
Krishna was great fun to be around with. He also did a good job finding the right lodges and give good support and information to us. When we had a tough time carrying our bags, Krishna helped us out immediately.
Krishna gave us a lot of information about the region, the people, all the mountain names etc. etc. Unfortunately he did not play pool very well. He was beaten by Gem twice!!!!
Thanks for your good services and say Hi to Krishna,
We had never been to Nepal before or indeed done any trekking. I can honestly say that this was the best holiday ever, and that it was made better by Nepal Hiking. The guides, porters, accommodation and food were fabulous. We were also treated to 21 days of blue skies and sunshine and 4 inches of snow, which made a beautiful place even better. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide in Bikram, his professionalism and knowledge was outstanding he even allowed us to beat him at cards! Also a huge thanks to Raj who carried our bags. The whole trip including our 5 days in Kathmandu will live in our memories forever especially the generosity and hospitality of our hosts.
I’m now back in Canada after my travel and trekking in Nepal and India.
I am writing to let you know that our group had a wonderful time doing EBC and Kalapathar trekking with your team.
Basu was a great guide and Hari, Ram, Krishna and Bhim were wonderful friendly porters. Your reception and see-off team was also a group of very friendly guys.
What really impressed me was that you and your team did not cut corners when it came to accommodation and food. Wherever possible Basu arranged for the best food and accommodation. I can’t say enough for your teams’ friendly relationship with us. I can’t wait to join you again for more trekking and Nepal exploration. You may use my email and phone for anyone who wants to know more about your company.
Dear Mr. Tilak B. Thapa Magar!
Thank you for your nice greetings and having thought of us. I am sorry for the delay of my reply, but we somehow had to acclimatize back at home, telling first of all everything to family and friends about our trip and showing the photos.
However we wouldn’t have skip the chance to thank you for the excellent organization you provided, for the kind and professional people you are employing and for showing us all the beauty your country has to offer.
As you surely remember, I was travelling with my father, and we both had a wonderful time in your country. I found your company/colleagues/employees trustworthy, professional, kind and always eager to help!
We would like to say special thanks to the drivers, to our guide Shankar, and most of all to our guide and the porter while having been on trekking, to Basu and Hari!!!
They were more than kind and always helpful, and kept watching all our wishes. We really liked them a lot and we became friends. And as far as it is possible, please do pass them our greetings and our sincere thanks for having watched over us in the mountains. We will never forget them, and for sure, if there is a next time, we would only want to go with them to do trekking!! Please do pass the following photos to Basu (or if it is possible to receive his e-mail address, we can send him the photos ourselves), cause I know he would be happy to see them as well.
Special thanks also go out to our guide in Tibet, Tenzin Norbu, who was incredibly helpful and entertaining.
So thank you for having made our time in Nepal and Tibet unforgettable!
We will definitely recommend your company!
I wanted to thank you and everyone on our trek that made my trip awesome! The trek was better than I expected and everything went smoothly from start to finish. Our guide Basu was great and very organized. He made sure I was always comfortable and taken care of. The porters did an amazing job and were very friendly. It was fun to join together in the evenings and play cards together. Thank you for making my 50th birthday dream a success, I’m still “high” from the experience.
Happy New Year! I hope to come back again with my son.
I sincerely recommend Nepal Hiking for trekking in Nepal. Tilak and Bhairam were kind and professional since the first contact by email until the end of my trip. I’m Brazilian and I would be very far away from home. I travelled first to India and arrived in Nepal sick unable to start the trekking on scheduled date. Tilak offered me all the necessary support, recommending a clinic and managed to postpone the start of the trek so I could recover well. I’m aware of the work behind it since October is high season in Nepal and it is not easy to change totally a trip scheduled for months.
The trek I did – Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek – was amazing and wonderful, a remarkable experience see some of Himalaya giants as Annapurna South and pass through Nepal villages to get closer to their culture and customs. The weather was wonderful. My guide, Bishnu, is a very good professional, good-humored all the time and really took care of me. He knew that I was sick some days before and provided special care with my food during the trek.
Nepal is a country with a soul. I felt at home and among friends. I take the opportunity to comment that people should not be afraid to travel alone since it is a wonderful way of making new friends from different countries and getting in touch with yourself.
Thank you very much Tilak, Bhairam and Bishnu. Namaste !!
This was our first time to Nepal, and our choice of using Nepal Hiking wasn’t a mistake, Bhairam was great at customizing the the entire trip, our guide Tirtha was an awesome dude, very helpful and friendly! not to mention the porters, they were friendly and nice men, we were like among friends in the trip. To be honest I don’t have any complains because everything that they have set for the trip was satisfying.
To start off, thanks to Bhairam, its a hassle free transaction from A to z. All Q & As, customizations etc are answered within 24hrs via email and in fact all itineraries, infos are readily available in the website.
For the trek itself, its a pretty cool trek. Off-beaten, beautiful views with unexpected snow at the top. In fact, it was a joy to trek in the snow for the first time. Anyway, our guide, Lok is awesome. He’s very knowledgeable, does not pressure us, a very smiley person and motivates us along the way. Along with other 5 strong polite porters.
This company are made of responsible bunch of crew from the drivers to our trekking men, tour guide and reps.
You’ve got to experience it to believe it.
We booked a Bhutan Trip through Nepal Hiking via Internet.
They organised the trip to our wishes, welcomed us at Kathmandu airport. We stayed in a nice hotel in Thamel for one night.
All transfers from airport to the airport were in nice cars, on time. Nepal Hiking works with an excellent agent in Bhutan (TLF holidays). They organised the perfect trip, took good care of us. We can highly recommend them for any tour/trek in Nepal or in Bhutan.
We have enjoyed a special trekking holiday in Nepal, walking 80 km in 5 days, 3000 metres to Poonhill. It was beautiful but basic, sunny but so cold at night, lovely and hard… An unforgettable holiday!
Special thanks for the Bishnu.
Me and my group did tour with Nepal Hiking this year. Mr. Bhairam Thapa replied all my emails. He replied all my emails with all answers of my questions. They provided us very good service during our trip. I don’t hesitate recommend this company. Specially thanks to Mr. Bhairam.
We have been with the Nepal Hiking for the second time now. The first time we’ve traveled to Tibet (private tour – Lhasa – EBC – back to Nepal by a Jeep). This year we did the classic Everest Base Camp Trekking Tour and an excursion to Pokhara and Chitwan. The whole tour was really awesome. The service was excellent. Tilak and Bhairam have organized our tour perfectly good. They are very kind, helpful and have never lost their professionalism. A big thank you also goes to our guide Chhabi and our porter Krishna on the trek. They are very kind, helpful, responsible, funny and always toke care of us. I can really say that I’m a fan of Nepal Hiking. If i would ever come back to Nepal, i want that my tour will be organized by Nepal Hiking again. I really appreciate it!
Thank you very much for those unforgettable moments !
Six friends chose to trek to Gokyo Lakes, Chola Pass and Everest Base Camp. We looked at several companies and after exchange of initial polite informative emails, good Trip Advisor reports and previous friends who liked their services we chose Nepal Hiking — haven’t regretted our decision for one moment. Bhairam answered all our enquiries promptly, we were given all necessary information before travelling and their service from beginning to end was faultless, cannot think of anything to complain about. We were even taken to a complimentary Traditional Nepalese Dinner. Our guides and porters were friendly, charming and helpful and we heard about the lengthy training they must do before becoming a guide. At all times we felt safe. Thank you Bhairam and everyone in the company very very much.
Do not hesitate to give us a call. We are an expert team and we are happy to talk to you.
