What to Expect

About Nagarkot

Nagarkot is the best site to see the mountain vistas and sunrise. That’s why many visitors go to Nagarkot to see the sunrise view. The views look spectacular as sunrises from behind the Himalayas.

Nagarkot, a hillside town, lies at an altitude of 2211m above sea level, which is 30 km northeast of Kathmandu. In good weather, you can see great views of the Himalayas, including Annapurna, Langtang, Dorje Lakpa, Gauri Shanker and Ganesh Himal.

Also, the mountain flight that operates daily to show Everest and the other Himalayas from Kathmandu flies over the Nagarkot route.

However, to see the sunrise, you must go to Nagarkot at 4 a.m; from Kathmandu. Alternatively, you can spend a night there.

It is also a good place for day hiking to Nagarkot. You can hike from Changu Narayan, Sundarijal, Banepa, and Nala, as well as from Sankhu Bajrayogini.

About Bhaktapur Durbar Square

Bhaktapur Durbar Square is a conglomeration of pagoda and shikhara – style temples grouped around a fifty-five-window palace of brick and wood. The square is one of the most charming valley as it highlights the ancient of the kings perched on top of stone monoliths, the guardian deities looking out from their sanctuaries, the wood carvings in very place – struts, lintels, tympanums, gateways and windows – all seem to form a well orchestrated symphony
