Explore the magical beauty of Nature with a trip to Helambu Valley Trekking, where you can traverse through stunning landscapes and enjoy incredible views!

Helambu Valley Trekking is an easy, moderate, and popular trekking trail northeast of Kathmandu, which is about 80 km from Kathmandu and is associated with the Langtang Region. Helambu, home of the Hyolmo people, is the region of Nepal’s highland villages. It is a Buddhist pilgrimage site famous for its aesthetic Buddhist monasteries. Though the presence of high Himalayas is not there, the Langtang Himalayan range (7246m), Dorje Lakpa (6988m), Gaurishankar Himal (7415m), Ganesh Himal (7406m), and Jugal Himal are the best scenery of this Helambu valley. As the trail is easy to walk on, the Helambu Valley is appropriate for all types of people pursuing trekking, regardless of gender, age, or physical condition, at affordable prices. You can view the finest scenery in the spring and autumn as the weather at this time is at its best.

Get some cultural insights into the Helambu Valley.

On the other hand, you can experience or gain some knowledge of the culture of the natives of Helambu. Tea house lodging and camping are only the accommodation sources in the Helambu. Therefore, the trek is appropriate for those trekkers who prefer a short trek, staying at tea houses and lodges. You can complete the trek within a week. And the trek begins from Sundarijal, the northeast corner of Kathmandu valley.

My son, aged 10, and I enjoyed the short but interesting trek in the Helambu region. Our guide Gokul was always supportive and made us laugh during the trip.

Thank you, Gokul and NepalHiking!
