This fascinating Legendary Classic trek offers a wonderful opportunity to climb Kalapathar (5,535m), overlooking the Everest Base Camp area, having a superb view of the highest mountains, including Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Makalu, and to interact with the indigenous people. It is considered the highly praised trekking route to Everest Region. It was in 1952 when two renewed figures, Sir Edmund Hillary and Mr Tenzing Sherpa, took the same route to Mt. Everest.
After a seven hours scenic drive to Jiri, we follow the spectacular route via the Solukhumbu area through the heart of fine Sherpa villages, each with something new to offer. It offers ample opportunity to explore the beautiful forest, farming country sides and several monasteries at high elevations on the way to Lukla. Once one has passed Lukla, we climb onto Namche Bazaar, the main trading village of the Khumbu area, continuing via Thyangboche monastery to Pheriche and Lobuche.
The trek has several attractions: the spectacular scenery and the unique culture of the Sherpa people of Solukhumbu. In this region, Mt. Everest and its attendant lesser peaks are located.

With the updated itinerary, you will take a long drive by jeep to Salleri and spend overnight there before you start your trek journey. With this trekking programme, first, you will visit Gokyo Lake and Chola Pass; then, you will head up to Everest Base Camp. Altogether, it is a 24-day trip. If you are looking for a shorter route without visiting the Gokyo Lake and Chola Pass, please check out the 21 days A Road Trip to Everest Base Camp – 21 days.
