Tour Introduction

This professionally designed expedition combines three legendary Himalayan experiences in one seamless journey: Pisang Peak Climbing, Tilicho Lake, and the Thorong La Pass crossing.

You begin with classic Annapurna Circuit trekking, allowing your body to adapt naturally before moving into technical alpine terrain. Under the supervision of our expert climbing team, you will receive hands-on instruction in rope techniques, crampon use, and safe movement on snow and ice — ideal for climbers aiming to progress beyond trekking.

After the Pisang Peak summit, the adventure continues to the remote and breathtaking Tilicho Lake, followed by the iconic Thorong La Pass (5,416 m) — one of the highest trekking passes on earth. The journey finishes with a dramatic descent to Muktinath and the Kali Gandaki Valley.

Detailed Itinerary
Fully supported | Custom departures available

Day 01 – Arrival in Kathmandu (1,350 m)

On arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our airport team and transferred to your hotel. In the evening, your lead guide conducts a short but essential briefing covering the route, safety standards, climbing approach, and overall expedition flow. Initial gear inspection and permit processing begin to ensure a smooth departure. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 02 – Drive Kathmandu → Jagat (1,300 m) | 8–9 hrs

An early start by private vehicle, allowing flexibility and comfort. The drive passes rivers, terraced hillsides, and rural settlements, gradually transitioning from city life into the Himalayan foothills. Jagat marks the official gateway to the Annapurna region. Overnight in a lodge.

Day 03 – Trek Jagat → Dharapani (1,950 m) | 6–7 hrs

Your trek officially begins. Walk through forested trails, waterfalls, and stone staircases while your guide sets a steady, acclimatisation-friendly pace. The route follows the Marsyangdi River into the heart of the Annapurna region. Overnight in Dharapani.

Day 04 –Trek Dharapani → Chame (2,630 m) | 5–6 hrs

The trail climbs gradually through pine and fir forests with widening mountain views. Your guide continues monitoring pace, hydration, and comfort. Chame, the district headquarters of Manang, offers your first close Himalayan panoramas. Overnight in Chame.

Day 05 – Trek Chame → Upper Pisang (3,300 m) | 5–6 hrs

A spectacular trekking day featuring cliff-side paths carved above deep river gorges. The landscape becomes increasingly dry and alpine as you approach Upper Pisang, a traditional village with dramatic mountain scenery. Overnight in a lodge.

Day 06 – Acclimatisation and exploration in Upper Pisang

A planned acclimatisation day designed to improve summit success. Short-guided hikes to viewpoints and monasteries help your body adjust naturally. Your climbing guide may introduce light movement and basic scrambling techniques to prepare you for higher terrain. Overnight in Upper Pisang.

Day 07 – Trek Upper Pisang → Pisang Peak Base Camp (4,380 m) | 5–6 hrs

Leaving the main Annapurna Circuit, the route ascends into quieter alpine terrain. You trek through yak pastures and open landscapes to reach a fully supported base camp, staffed by an experienced climbing team. Overnight at base camp.

Day 08 –Trek Base Camp → Pisang Peak High Camp (5,400 m) | 3–4 hrs

A shorter but more technical ascent. Upon reaching high camp, your certified climbing guide conducts refresher training on crampon use, fixed rope techniques, and safe movement on snow and ice. Early rest in preparation for summit day. Overnight in tents.

Day 09 –Summit Pisang Peak (6,091 m) & return to Base Camp | 7–10 hrs

A true highlight of the expedition. An early alpine start leads you onto mixed snow and rock terrain, supported by fixed ropes and expert supervision. From the summit, enjoy sweeping views across the Annapurna range before descending carefully to base camp. Overnight at base camp.

Day 10 – Trek Base Camp → Manang (3,550 m) | 5–6 hrs

Descend from the climbing zone back into the Manang Valley. The afternoon is free for rest, recovery, and optional village exploration. Overnight in Manang.

Day 11 – Trek Manang → Tilicho Base Camp | 3–4 hrs

The trail heads west into the remote Tilicho region. Expect rugged paths, dramatic rock formations, and fewer trekkers. Your guide manages pacing carefully as altitude remains high. Overnight in lodge.

Day 12 –Tilicho Base Camp → Tilicho Lake (4,919 m) → return | 7–9 hrs

A challenging and rewarding high-altitude day hike. Reach the vast turquoise waters of Tilicho Lake, one of the highest alpine lakes in the world. Time is allowed to absorb the scenery before descending back to base camp. Overnight at Tilicho Base Camp.

Day 13 – Tilicho Base Camp → Yak Kharka (4,110 m) | 5–6 hrs

Continue forward without returning to Manang, reconnecting directly with the Annapurna Circuit. This efficient routing saves time and avoids unnecessary altitude loss. Overnight in Yak Kharka.

Day 14 – Trek Yak Kharka → Thorong Phedi / High Camp (4,600–4,925 m) | 4–5 hrs

A steady ascent through open alpine terrain. The afternoon is dedicated to rest, hydration, and final preparation for crossing Thorong La Pass. Overnight at Thorong Phedi or High Camp.

Day 15 – Cross Thorong La Pass (5,416 m) → Muktinath (3,760 m) | 9–11 hrs

An early start for one of the most iconic days in Himalayan trekking. After reaching the summit of Thorong La Pass, descend gradually to Muktinath, a sacred pilgrimage site revered by both Hindus and Buddhists. Overnight in Muktinath.

Day 16 – Drive Muktinath → Pokhara | 8–9 hrs

Overland drive through the Kali Gandaki Valley and Mustang landscapes. Arrival in Pokhara by evening. Overnight in Pokhara.

Day 17 – Drive Pokhara → Kathmandu | 6–7 hrs

Scenic drive back to Kathmandu. In the evening, enjoy a farewell dinner with your guide and support team to celebrate your successful expedition. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 18 — Departure from Kathmandu

Transfer to the international airport for your onward journey.

Amazing experience with Nepal Hiking. Organisation was excellent from start to finish. Tilak was always available on WhatsApp and in person when needed. Trekking guide Hari was funny and positive, which helped a lot on long walking days. Pisang Peak summit was the highlight of my life so far. Thorong La crossing was hard but guide managed pace perfectly. At the end, farewell dinner was very nice and meaningful. I feel proud and thankful to the whole team.

I have trekked in Nepal before, but this trip was special. Tilak is very professional and honest tour operator. Guides really care about safety and people, not just finishing the trip. When I felt tired, they slowed down and encouraged me. Pisang Peak climb gave me confidence and new strength. Tilicho Lake was stunning and emotional place for me. Saying goodbye in Kathmandu was difficult because the team treated us like family. I highly recommend Nepal Hiking.

I came from Ukraine for my first 6000m climb and I was little nervous. After meeting Tilak and our guides, I felt confident. They were friendly, patient, and very supportive. Before summit day, climbing training was very helpful. Pisang Peak was challenging but I feel proud I did it. Tilicho Lake was my favourite place, very powerful and quiet. Guides always asked if I am ok and eating well. The goodbye evening in Kathmandu felt like family farewell. I really trust Nepal Hiking.

This Pisang Peak climbing trip was one of the biggest experiences of my life. From the first day in Kathmandu, Tilak and the Nepal Hiking team took very good care of us. Airport pickup, hotel, briefing — everything was smooth. Our climbing guide was very experienced and calm, always checking our health and energy. Summit day was long and difficult, but I felt safe because guide explain every move clearly. Tilicho Lake was very beautiful and peaceful. Farewell dinner in Kathmandu was emotional, we laughed and shared stories. I leave Nepal with strong memories.
