The Gokyo Lake, Chola Pass and Everest Base Camp Trek is an ideal trek that provides plenty of opportunities to enjoy the breathtaking view of Everest. It also includes several other similar peaks and explores the Buddhist monasteries at the world’s highest elevation.
This unique trek takes you to the home of the legendary local community on the foothill of the world’s highest peak, Mt. Everest. This 18 days trek follows the highly praised trekking route through the Dudh Koshi to its water source of the Gokyo Lake, to the west of the Everest Base Camp.
To join this trek, you will start from Lukla and trek to Namche Bazar. After 2 nights in Namche Bazar, you will trek to the Gokyo Valley. After a few days of the trek, you will reach Gokyo lake. Next, you will explore the valley, including a summit to the Gokyo Peak (5483 metres). The summit offers a fantastic panoramic view of Cho Oyo, Everest, and Makalu from the peak. Furthermore, travelling through Khumbu Himal, Gokyo valley, the Chola Pass and Everest Base Camp will reward you with the most dramatic landscape views.
You can treat the trek as one of the most adventurous treks in the Himalayas as it follows the route via a high pass into Khumbu, i.e. Cho La Pass, at 5330 metres. As you cross the Cho-La Pass, you will return to Lukla following the route through Everest Base Camp, Kala Pathar and Tyangbouche monastery, Khumjung village and Namche Bazar.
