Where is the Langtang Valley Located, and what is the importance of a trek to Langtang in terms of nature and culture?
Langtang Valley is situated close to the Tibetan border and is a remote valley enclosed by snow-capped mountains that culminate in the peak of Langtang Lirung (7246m).
The religion of the Tamang people closely resembles those of the people of Tibet who inhabit the area. You will trek through larch and rhododendron forests abundant with wildflowers and bird life, ensuring your trek is particularly attractive, especially in the springtime.
You will explore the head of the valley, getting close to the glacier outline or climbing a nearby peak, such as Tserko Ri (5033m), for breathtaking mountain views. After a visit to Langtang Valley, you will ascend to Gosainkunda and pass the holy lakes of Gosaikund to enter Helambu Valley via the Lauribinayak Pass (4610m).
As you are on the Laurebina Pass, you are rewarded with stunning views of the Manaslu, Ganesh Himal and even as far as the Annapurna massif. A series of undulating ridges offers delightful walking before descending to the edge of Kathmandu.
