Nepal Tourism Industry Flourishes as Over 55,000 Tourists Revel in The Beauty of Nepal

Nepal has become a major tourist destination, with more than 55,000 people entering the country in January 2023 alone. Visitors to Nepal are treated to a stunning range of natural and cultural attractions, from the spectacular Himalayas to vibrant cities and beautiful rural landscapes.

According to the record provided by the Nepal Tourism Board, 55074 tourists came to Nepal in January 2023. January is considered an off-season month. Therefore, the increased number of tourists arriving in January is a good signal with a positive hope for Nepal’s tourism industry to flourish in the peak seasons of March through May and October through November. Besides, Chinese tourists are yet to be allowed to travel to Nepal. 

Indian tourists are at the top of the list visiting Nepal, followed by Americans, Australians and Bangladeshis, according to the Nepal Tourism Board data. According to data, since the coronavirus pandemic, this is the highest number of tourists visiting Nepal in January. In January 2019, 81,243 tourists came to Nepal, followed by 79,702 in January 2020.
