A brief itinerary;

Day 01: Lhasa Arrival [3650m]

  • Arrive in Lhasa and acclimate to the altitude.

Day 02: Lhasa Sightseeing.

  • Explore Potala Palace and Jokhang Temple.

Day 03: Lhasa Sightseeing

  • Visit Drepung and Sera Monasteries.

Day 04: Lhasa to Gyantse [280Km, 3980m].

  • Journey to Gyantse, visit Yamdrok-to Lake, Karo-la Glacier, and Pelkor Chode Monastery.

Day 05: Gyantse to Sakya [250Km, 4320m]

  • Explore Shalu and Sakya Monasteries.

Day 06: Sakya to Everest North Face at Rongbuk [230 km, 5000m].

  • Eco-bus to Rongbuk Monastery and Everest Base Camp (when access is allowed).

Day 07: Rongbuk to Shigatse [334Km, 3840m]

  • Explore Rongbuk Monastery and travel to Shigatse.

Day 08: Shigatse to Lhasa [272Km, 3650m]

  • Visit Tashilhunpo Monastery and return to Lhasa.

Day 09: Tibet Departure.

  • Bid farewell to Tibet.

How to arrive in Lhasa?

By Air:

  • Fly to Lhasa Gonggar Airport (LXA), the main airport serving Lhasa.
  • Several major cities have direct flights to Lhasa, including Chengdu, Beijing, Shanghai, and Kathmandu.
  • Upon arrival, you will be picked up by our local tour agent and transferred to your accommodation in Lhasa.

By Train:

  • Take a train to Lhasa from various major cities in China, such as Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Xi’an, and more.
  • The Qinghai-Tibet Railway offers a scenic journey, and the train ride provides a gradual acclimatization to the high altitude.
  • Arrive at Lhasa Railway Station, and the tour operators will arrange your hotel transfer.

  • Ensure you obtain the necessary permits for travelling to Tibet.
  • Acclimatize yourself gradually to the high altitude to prevent altitude sickness.

Day 1Lhasa Arrival [3650m]

Arrive in the mystical city of Lhasa, the cultural heart of Tibet. Transfer to the Shambhala Palace Heritage Hotel, a Tibetan-style boutique hotel in the Barkhor Old Quarter. Begin your acclimatization process to the high altitude.

Day 2Lhasa Sightseeing - Potala Palace and Jokhang Temple

Explore the iconic Potala Palace, an architectural marvel and UNESCO World Heritage Site. Wander through the sacred halls and rooms that hold centuries of Tibetan history. Visit the Jokhang Temple, a spiritual centre adorned with vibrant prayer flags and bustling with pilgrims.

Day 3 Lhasa Sightseeing - Drepung and Sera Monasteries

Delve into Tibetan Buddhist culture at Drepung Monastery, one of the largest monastic institutions in the world. Witness the lively debates among monks at Sera Monastery, an enlightening experience that provides insight into Tibetan religious traditions.

Days 04Lhasa to Gyantse [280Km, 3980m]

Embark on a scenic drive to Gyantse, with stops at the stunning Yamdrok-tso lake, the awe-inspiring Karo-la glacier, and Pelkor Chode Monastery. Check into Yutuo Hotel 3* or a similar accommodation, surrounded by the beauty of the Himalayan landscape.

Day 5Gyantse to Sakya [250Km, 4320m]

Day 6Sakya to Everest North Face at Rongbuk [230Km, 5000m]

Experience the thrill of approaching the Everest North Face. Take an eco-bus to Rongbuk Monastery and, if permitted, continue to Everest Base Camp. Witness the sheer majesty of the world’s highest peak up close. Stay overnight at Mt. Everest Tourist Camp Dormitory Tent or Rongbuk Monastery Guesthouse.

Day 7Rongbuk to Shigatse [334Km, 3840m]

Explore the spiritual ambience of Rongbuk Monastery, set against the backdrop of Everest. Journey to Shigatse, the second-largest city in Tibet, and check into the prestigious Gesar Hotel 4* in the VIP building.

Day 8Shigatse to Lhasa [272Km, 3650m]

Visit the historical Tashilhunpo Monastery in Shigatse, home to the Panchen Lama. Return to Lhasa; the journey allows you to reflect on your remarkable experiences. Spend the night at the Shambhala Palace Heritage Hotel.

Day 9Tibet Departure
