Day 04: Lhasa to Gyantse [280Km, 3980m].

Day 05: Gyantse to Sakya [250Km, 4320m]

  • Eco-bus to Rongbuk Monastery and Everest Base Camp (when access is allowed).

How to arrive in Lhasa?

By Air:

  • Fly to Lhasa Gonggar Airport (LXA), the main airport serving Lhasa.
  • Several major cities have direct flights to Lhasa, including Chengdu, Beijing, Shanghai, and Kathmandu.
  • Upon arrival, you will be picked up by our local tour agent and transferred to your accommodation in Lhasa.

By Train:

  • Take a train to Lhasa from various major cities in China, such as Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Xi’an, and more.
  • The Qinghai-Tibet Railway offers a scenic journey, and the train ride provides a gradual acclimatization to the high altitude.
  • Arrive at Lhasa Railway Station, and the tour operators will arrange your hotel transfer.

Day 1Lhasa Arrival [3650m]

Arrive in the mystical city of Lhasa, the cultural heart of Tibet. Transfer to the Shambhala Palace Heritage Hotel, a Tibetan-style boutique hotel in the Barkhor Old Quarter. Begin your acclimatization process to the high altitude.

Day 2Lhasa Sightseeing - Potala Palace and Jokhang Temple

Explore the iconic Potala Palace, an architectural marvel and UNESCO World Heritage Site. Wander through the sacred halls and rooms that hold centuries of Tibetan history. Visit the Jokhang Temple, a spiritual centre adorned with vibrant prayer flags and bustling with pilgrims.

Day 3 Lhasa Sightseeing - Drepung and Sera Monasteries

Day 7Rongbuk to Shigatse [334Km, 3840m]

Day 8Shigatse to Lhasa [272Km, 3650m]
