Short Annapurna Base Camp Trek – 6 Nights / 7 Days

The Short Annapurna Base Camp Trek is designed for travellers with limited time who still wish to experience the beauty of the Himalayas and reach Annapurna Base Camp within a shorter holiday schedule. Following a more direct route into the Annapurna region, the trek combines mountain scenery, traditional villages, and rewarding trekking days without the longer detours of the classic itinerary.

The journey begins with a scenic flight to Pokhara, followed by a drive to the trailhead at Jhinu Danda. From there, the trail gradually ascends through terraced hillsides, bamboo forests, and Gurung settlements before entering the dramatic alpine landscapes of the Annapurna Sanctuary.

Although shorter in duration, the trek still offers the memorable experience of standing beneath some of the highest peaks in the Himalayas. From Annapurna Base Camp (4,130m), enjoy panoramic views of Annapurna I, Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), Hiunchuli, and Annapurna South rising above the surrounding glacier basin.

Why Choose the Short Annapurna Base Camp Trek?

  • Direct and efficient route to Annapurna Base Camp
  • Comfortable guesthouse accommodation throughout the trek

Itinerary

Day 1:Arrival in Kathmandu (1,400m)

Welcome to Nepal. Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, our representative will meet you and transfer you to your hotel in Kathmandu. Depending on your arrival time, you may relax at the hotel or explore the lively streets, cafés, and local shops around Thamel. Overnight stay in Kathmandu.

Day 2: Fly to Pokhara (822m), Drive to Jhinu Danda (1,780m) and Trek to Sinuwa (2,340m) – 4 to 5 Hours Walk

After an early breakfast, take a scenic flight to Pokhara with beautiful Himalayan views along the way. Upon arrival, continue by private vehicle through terraced hillsides, riverside villages, and winding mountain roads toward Jhinu Danda, where the trek begins.

From Jhinu, cross the suspension bridge over the Modi Khola and begin climbing stone stairways toward Chhomrong, a traditional Gurung village with impressive views of Annapurna South and Machhapuchhre (Fishtail). After lunch in Chhomrong, continue through forest trails and quieter sections of the valley to reach Sinuwa (2,340m).

Today’s walk is a comfortable introduction to the trek, allowing time to settle into the mountain atmosphere without rushing too quickly into higher elevations. Overnight at a guesthouse (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner included).

Day 3:Trek to Himalaya (2,920m) or Deurali (3,230m) – 5 to 7 Hours

The trail gradually enters a quieter and more dramatic landscape as you walk through bamboo and rhododendron forests alongside the Modi Khola valley. Passing Bamboo and Dovan, the scenery becomes increasingly alpine with waterfalls, steep cliffs, and narrow mountain valleys.

Depending on walking pace and trail conditions, overnight stay will be at Himalaya or Deurali. The peaceful surroundings and changing mountain scenery make this one of the most rewarding trekking days. Overnight at a guesthouse (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner included).

Day 4:Trek to Annapurna Base Camp (4,130m) and Return to Bamboo or Dovan – 6 to 7 Hours

Today is the highlight of the journey. The trail climbs past Machhapuchhre Base Camp before opening into the spectacular Annapurna Sanctuary, surrounded by towering snow-covered peaks.

From Annapurna Base Camp, enjoy panoramic views of Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, and Machhapuchhre rising above the glacier basin. The feeling of standing in the heart of the Himalayas is truly unforgettable.

After spending time at base camp and taking in the mountain scenery, begin descending toward Bamboo or Dovan for the overnight stay. Overnight at a guesthouse (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner included).

Day 5:Trek to Jhinu Danda (1,780m) – Natural Hot Spring Experience

After breakfast, continue descending through forests, terraced hillsides, and mountain villages toward Jhinu Danda. In the afternoon, enjoy time at the natural hot springs beside the river — a relaxing and memorable experience after several days of trekking in the mountains.

Spend a peaceful evening surrounded by the sounds of the river and forest. Overnight at a guesthouse (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner included).

Day 6:Drive to Pokhara and Fly back to Kathmandu

This morning, drive back to Pokhara through scenic countryside before taking a short flight to Kathmandu. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel and enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure. You may explore local markets, enjoy a traditional Nepali meal, or simply relax before your departure. Overnight stay in Kathmandu (Breakfast included).

Day 7:Departure

Your Himalayan journey comes to an end today. Our team will transfer you to the airport for your onward flight, leaving Nepal with unforgettable memories of mountain landscapes, traditional villages, and the experience of reaching Annapurna Base Camp within a short yet rewarding adventure.
