Detailed Itinerary for Tsum Valley and Manaslu Circuit

Day 1Arrival day in Kathmandu.

Upon your arrival in Kathmandu, our airport representative will greet you and transfer you to your hotel. Rest up and enjoy your first overnight stay at the hotel. Breakfast is included to kickstart your adventure.

Day 2Trek to Machha Khola (930m)

After breakfast, embark on your trekking adventure by following the Buddhi Gandaki River. The trail gradually ascends as you pass through scenic river gorges. Enjoy an easy 5-6 hours walk before reaching Machha Khola, where you will overnight in a local teahouse.

Day 3Trek to Doban (1390m)

Today’s trek involves moderate to strenuous walking, including some steep ascents and descents. The trail takes you to Doban, situated at the confluence of the Shiar Khola and Sarpu Khola rivers. After a satisfying 6-7 hour trek, you’ll overnight at a comfortable teahouse.

Day 4Trek to Philim (1760m)

On day four, you’ll pass through beautiful Gurung villages and hamlets, giving you a glimpse into the local culture. As you approach Philim, enjoy panoramic views of Sringri Himal. After a 6-hour walk, settle into your teahouse for the night.

Day 5Trek to Chumling (Lower Tsum) - 2275m.

Cross a small stream and gradually ascend to Lokpa, then continue onward to Chumling. This day involves a combination of ascents and descents, making for a 6-7 hour trek. Overnight in Chumling, where you can experience the tranquil beauty of the Lower Tsum Valley.

Day 6Trek to Chhokangparo (Upper Tsum) - 3030m.

Continue your journey into Upper Tsum Valley, reaching Chhokangparo, a peaceful settlement with breathtaking views of Ganesh Himal and Boudha Himal. After a 5-6 hour trek, enjoy an overnight stay in a teahouse.

Day 7Return Trek to Lokpa

After a brief excursion around Upper Tsum Valley, retrace your steps back to Lokpa. This is a relatively easy 5-6 hour walk. Once you arrive, rest and stay overnight in a teahouse.

Day 8Trek to Deng (1860m)

Today’s trek involves easy climbing as you head towards Chautara, where you’ll enjoy great views of Shringi Himal. Cross suspension bridges and trek through pine forests before reaching Deng after a 6-hour trek. Overnight stay in Deng.

Day 9Trek to Namrung (2560m)

Continue westward, where you will observe Tibetan-influenced architecture, including dry-stone houses, Mani walls, and chortens. Enjoy the 5-6 hour trek to Namrung, where you will spend the night at a teahouse.

Day 10Trek to Sama (3620m)

Leave Namrung behind and cross the Therang Khola river. After 6 hours of walking, you’ll arrive at Lho and be treated to an incredible view of Mt. Manaslu. Continue to Sama, your overnight destination, where you’ll rest in a cozy teahouse.

Day 11Rest Day in Sama

Today, take a well-deserved rest. Explore the village of Sama, visit the gompas, or hike to Birendra Kund, a sacred lake offering spectacular views of Mt. Manaslu and its northern icefall. Overnight stay in Sama.

Day 12Trek to Samdo (3875m)

From Sama, head toward Samdo, a Tibetan refugee settlement. You’ll pass through grassy yak pastures, and after 3-4 hours of trekking, you’ll arrive at Samdo. Overnight stay in a local teahouse with stunning views of Mt. Manaslu.

Day 13Trek to Larkya Phedi (Dharmasala) - 4460m

Today, descend to the Gyala Khola river and cross a bridge before continuing towards Larkya Phedi. Enjoy views of Larkye Peak and Mt. Manaslu. After a 3-4 hour walk, you’ll stay overnight in Dharmasala, a base camp for climbers preparing for Larkya La Pass.

Day 14Trek to Bimthang (3590m) via Larkya Pass (5135m)

This is the longest and most challenging day of the trek. You’ll cross the Larkya Pass at 5,135 meters, offering stunning views of Mt. Himlung, Cheo Himal, Gyagi Kang, and Annapurna III. After 8 hours of trekking, you’ll arrive in Bimthang for an overnight stay at a local teahouse.

Day 15Trek to Tilje (2300m) or Dharapani

After crossing rhododendron and pine forests, descend to Tilje or Dharapani. If the weather allows, enjoy a beautiful view of the west face of Mt. Manaslu. The trek lasts 6-7 hours, and you will overnight in a teahouse.

Day 16Drive Back to Kathmandu

Take a scenic drive from Tilje to Kathmandu. First, drive to Bensisahar (35 km) on a bumpy road, then continue on the 175 km highway to Kathmandu, where you’ll spend the night at your hotel. Breakfast is included.

Day 17Departure

Your Himalayan adventure comes to an end today. We’ll transfer you to the airport for your departure flight, concluding your unforgettable Tsum Valley and Manaslu Circuit Trek.
