A Gateway to Spiritual Enlightenment

Nestled in the north of the mesmerizing Phoksundo Lake, the Shey-Crystal Mountain, also recognized as the younger sibling of the sacred Mt. Kailash, serves as a canvas displaying the brilliant hues of spirituality and nature’s grandeur. With an elevation proudly marking 4160 meters, it stands as a towering figure echoing tales of divinity and enlightenment, especially resonating with the vibrations left by the holy Tuptop Singe Yeshe during his path to enlightenment.

Shey Festival: A Spiritual Spectacle

Every twelve years, the sacred valleys of Shey Gompa echo with the resonant chants and vibrant festivities of the Shey Festival. Aligning with the Tibetan lunar calendar’s Dragon year (Druklho), the festival brings together the spiritual significance of twelve globally revered pilgrimage sites, including Mt. Kailash in Tibet and Swayambhunath in Kathmandu. The cycle will come full circle again in 2024, inviting seekers and travellers to immerse themselves in this celestial celebration.
