Itinerary

Day 01Arrival in Kathmandu (1350m)

NepalHiking will arrange a pick-up service and take you to the hotel Kathmandu Suite Home. In the evening, you will meet your guide and porter(s); and final preparation for the next day’s departure for the trek. Overnight at the hotel (Bed and Breakfast).

Day 02Drive to Salleri (2360m)

It’s a long drive by Jeep, about 8-10 hours (about 265 km.). After a quick breakfast, you will leave the hotel by 7:30 am. On the road ahead, you will enjoy the exciting driving with the scenery of landscapes including mountains, villages and rivers and so on. And if the weather is good enough, you will also see Mt. Everest and Makalu from Patale village, which is at an elevation of 2850m). By the evening, between 6-7 pm, you will reach Salleri, a rural town and Solukhumbu District’s headquarters. Overnight at a guesthouse (Lunch and Dinner).

Day 03Trek to Takshindo (2930m/5-7 hours)

After breakfast, you will start your journey and walk through Salleri Bazaar and Phaplu village; ascend to Ringmo village by crossing farmlands, forest, rivers and some local settlements of Rai people and reach Takshindo La Pass (3080m). And from here you will enjoy the mountain views and see the Buddhis Chortern. Then, you will descend to Takshindo for an overnight stay. (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner).

Day 04Trek to Kharikhola (2250m/6-7 hours)

Get up earlier and enjoy a hot breakfast; then, witnessing and experiencing the daily activities of local people, you will trek to Kharikhola, a nice hinterland of multi-ethnic groups such as Rai, Magar, Tamang and so on. Overnight at a guesthouse. (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner).

Day 05Trek to Paiya (2937m/6-7 hours)

As usual, follow your routine of getting up earlier, take a hot breakfast; and then proceeding with exciting trekking up hills to the mountain with stunning views of the mountain river and forests. Finally, you will reach Paiya village, a hamlet, for an overnight stay. Overnight at a guesthouse. (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner).

Day 06Trek to Phakding (2660m/6-7 hours) via Lukla Airport (2804m)

After breakfast, you will walk through Surkhe village just below the Lukla airport. Then, you will trek to Lukla to witness the Lukla Airport, once known as one of the most dangerous airports in the world.
Then, you will walk through some villages and farmlands of barley, wheat and green vegetable; you will reach Phakding village for your night halt. Overnight at a guesthouse. (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner).

Day 07Trek to Namche Bazar (3535m/6-7 hours)

After breakfast, you will follow the trail along the Dudh Koshi river bank and pass some iron bridges, waterfalls and hamlets. After a couple of hours of walking, you will reach Monju village, an amicable settlement with a nice view of Mt. Thamserku (6608m). You will enter the Sagarmatha National Park from this place, where you will register your trek permit.

Then, you will continue your journey through the bank of the Dudh Koshi river and ascend through the pine forest to reach Namche Bazaar. Overnight at a guesthouse. (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner).

Day 08Acclimatisation and a side trip to nearby places

After breakfast, you can explore nearby places, including a hike to Syangboche and Khumjung village or a long day trip to Thame and return to Namche Bazaar for a night halt. Overnight at a guesthouse. (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner).

Day 09Trek to Tengboche Monastery (3860m/5-6 hours)

The Tengboche Monastery is situated on the hillside, which you can easily glimpse from Namche Bazaar. From Namche, the trail gradually ascends, following the trail ahead to Chhorkung, Kyangjuma and Sanasa villages. After going down from Sanasa village, you will cross the Imja river, and before ascending to Tengboche, you will see some water-powered prayer wheels, which are quite interesting. Then you will ascend through pine and rhododendron forests to reach Tengboche. Overnight at a guesthouse. (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner).

This evening or the next morning, you should visit the monastery and join a prayer ceremony for about an hour; meanwhile, you may wish for a successful journey! Decide your plan with the guide.

Day 10Trek to Dingboche (4350m/5-6 hours)

Just on your front, looking like a mirror, you will enjoy the mesmerizing view of Mt. Amadablam. Overlooking the view, you will descend through a rhododendron forest and arrive at Debuje, a small settlement with few guesthouses and mani walls. After a few hundred meters of walking through an alpine and grassland valley, you will cross a bridge over Imja Khola (river) and descend again to arrive at Pangboche village, another big human settlement before Dingboche village.

The day could be quite challenging due to the high elevation, but you would get a blessing from the impressive Himalayan ranges, releasing all your fatigue.

By enjoying the view, taking a rest and capturing beautiful images on your camera, you will continue your journey to Dingboche. Overnight at a guesthouse. (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner).

Day 11Acclimatization and a side trip around the valley

To acclimate your body to a high altitude, you will take a hike to Nangkartshang Gompa, about 400-500 meters above Dingboche village. You will enjoy the impressive view of Mt. Lhotse, Amadablam, Taboche, Cholatse, and Imja valley from the top. Return to Dingboche for an overnight stay. Overnight at a guesthouse. (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner).

Day 12Trek to Lobuche (4950m/4-5 hours)

After climbing a few hundred meters, you will follow the main trail to Dukhla, a place with a few tea houses. It’s an easy walk for about a couple of hours, and the views are equally impressive and mesmerizing. You are all surrounded by the Himalayan ranges. After Dukhla, the trail leads you uphill; and quite tough to breathe until you reach the memorial chorten on the top. After that, with an easy walk, you will reach Lobuje. Overnight at a guesthouse. (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner).

Day 13Trek to Everest Base Camp (5400m) and return to Gorakshep (5160m) - 8-9 hours

Today is the day to fulfil your dream a reality! That’s why you will leave Labuje (between 4-5 am) and arrive at Gorakshep, the last human settlement before the Everest Base Camp. You will enjoy breakfast here, overlooking the mountain views, glaciers and people hiking to Kalapatthar. After breakfast, you will rejoin your journey to Everest Base Camp. In about 3 hours, you will reach Everest Base Camp and then return to Gorakshep for an overnight stay. Overnight at a guesthouse. (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner).

Day 14Hiking to Kalapatthar (5545m) and trek back to Pheriche (4200m/6-7 hours)

Last, you will hike to Kalapatthar for a close-up view of Mt. Everest and other Himalayan ranges, including the mountains Lhotse, Nuptse, Cho-Oyu, Amadablam and many more. Then, you will return to Gorakshep, rest and then trek back to Pheriche. Overnight at a guesthouse. (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner).

Day 15Trek to Namche Bazaar (3535m/6-7 hours)

You will return to Namche Bazar, walking through Imja Khola, Pangboche village, and Tyangboche Monastery. On your return journey, the views are equally impressive! Overnight at a guesthouse. (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner).

Day 16Trek to Surke (2420m/8-9 hours)

It’s a journey to Surke through the villages of Manju, where you check out from the Sagarmatha National Park and pass the other villages, such as Phakding Chauri Kharka before you arrive at Surke for your night halt. Overnight at a guesthouse. (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner).

Day 17Trek to Jubing (1690m/6-7 hours)

It’s the same trail route you followed up to Base Camp. But you don’t feel so, because you will impress by dramatically different landscape views. It’s very hard to believe you followed the same trail. You will walk down the valley through the villages of Bupsa and Khari Khola and arrive at Jubling. Overnight at a guesthouse. (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner).

Day 18Trek to Ringmo (2720m/5-6 hours)

You will start your journey with a descent to Nunthala village. After passing the village, you will ascend to Takshindo La, which is situated at 3071m; and offers nice views. Then you will descend again to reach the Ringmo village for your night halt. Overnight at a guesthouse. (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner).

Day 19Trek to Salleri (2360m/4-5 hours)

It’s the last day of your trek journey, and recall yourself; the first day of the trek on the way up. By crossing some farmlands and settlements of different ethnic groups, such as Rai, you will arrive at Salleri. Afternoon, rest or stroll around the Salleri Bazaar and witness the local market. Overnight at a guesthouse. (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner).

Day 20Return to Kathmandu by Jeep (8-9 hours drive)

Enjoy your jeep drive adventure through bumpy and dusty roads with amazing landscapes. You will arrive in Kathmandu by 4-5 pm if there is no delay or traffic jam.

Day 21Fly back home

NepalHiking will arrange airport transfer 2-3 hours earlier than your flight boarding time.

You can also allow some buffer days in Kathmandu for sightseeing or shopping in Kathmandu.
