Itinerary

Day 1:Arrival in Kathmandu

Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, our representative will greet you and transfer you to your hotel in the heart of Kathmandu. In the evening, you’ll meet your guide for a trip briefing, covering festival highlights, cultural etiquette, and travel essentials. Overnight stay in a comfortable tourist-standard hotel.

Day 2:Drive to Pokhara (820m) – 6–7 hrs

After breakfast, enjoy a scenic drive to Pokhara, Nepal’s beautiful lakeside city. Along the Prithvi Highway, you’ll pass rivers, terraced fields, and charming villages. Once in Pokhara, check into your hotel and relax by Phewa Lake, with stunning views of the Annapurna and Machapuchare peaks. Overnight in Pokhara.

Day 3:Drive to Kagbeni via Beni and Jomsom – 8–9 hrs

Today’s adventure begins with a long but scenic jeep drive through the Kali Gandaki Gorge, the world’s deepest. The landscapes shift dramatically as you climb from green valleys to arid high-mountain deserts. Passing Beni, Tatopani, Marpha, and Jomsom, you finally reach Kagbeni – the entry point to Upper Mustang. Stay in a local guesthouse that offers both comfort and traditional hospitality.

Day 4: Drive to Ghami – 6–7 hrs

Continue deeper into the restricted Upper Mustang region (special permits required). Today’s drive takes you through Chhusang, Samar, and Syangboche, villages with Tibetan-influenced culture and architecture. You’ll notice the arid landscapes dotted with caves and monasteries. Overnight in Ghami, one of Mustang’s oldest settlements.

Day 5: Drive to Lo-Manthang (3,840m) – 5–6 hrs

This is a highlight day as you arrive at the fabled walled city of Lo-Manthang, the capital of Upper Mustang. The jeep ride unfolds with barren cliffs, painted canyons, and majestic Himalayan backdrops. After checking into your lodge, you’ll have time to explore narrow alleys, whitewashed houses, and royal palaces.

Days 6–8: The Tiji Festival in Lo-Manthang

For the next three days, immerse yourself in the Tiji Festival, a deeply spiritual celebration held annually to honor the triumph of good over evil. Monks perform masked dances depicting Buddhist legends, the community gathers in vibrant attire, and ancient rituals unfold inside and outside monasteries.

Your guide will provide cultural insights so you don’t just watch but truly understand the symbolism behind the festival. Evenings are free to stroll through the streets of Lo-Manthang and interact with locals who warmly welcome guests during this sacred occasion.

Day 9: Drive back to Tatopani – 8–9 hrs

Leaving Lo-Manthang, you retrace your journey southwards. Today is a full drive day, with stops for photos and short village visits. By late afternoon, arrive at Tatopani, famous for its natural hot springs. After days of dusty trails, soak in the warm mineral water pools – a rejuvenating highlight before returning. Overnight stay in Tatopani.

Day 10:Drive to Pokhara, then onward to Kathmandu – 9–10 hrs

The return journey takes you back through the Kali Gandaki Valley to Pokhara, where you can stop for lunch before continuing on to Kathmandu by private jeep. Arrive in Kathmandu in the evening and transfer to your hotel for a restful night.
